You Have to Make More Money

Most of the people go to a tedious 9to5 job only so they can get the paycheck at the end of the month and waste all of their hard earned money on useless stuff and it is sad because they are one step away from greatness, all they need is a certain level of economic education and awareness.

Before I get any further you have to understand that money are not evil or whatever bullshit like that someone might have told you but in fact, money can save your life. What people are capable of doing for money sometimes it is evil, and most of them end up stealing or doing nasty stuff for money only because they know no better.

The problem is that most of them spend more than they can afford and don’t save up anything at the end of the month. This is especially seen in the youngsters of today; they work crappy jobs like McDonald's for a few summers only so they can buy a car. Just because they don’t want to take the tram to their meaningless university, where they learn obedience so they can be better “dogs” when the time for a full-time job comes.

Make Money

If you want to change the quality of your life and the life of those around you; you have, by any means, to make money. Saving up is good but if you barely make enough to live day by day what you save will not be consistent, you have to increase your income, produce more.

If you think that you don’t need to make that much money, then don’t you dare whine that you don’t have enough money next time you want to take a trip or even buy some new stuff, or that your boss is keeping you after hours.

A life not lived the way you desire is a life not lived at all, someone wise once said, and I don’t think that anyone wants a job. I don’t believe that there are people who enjoy waking up in the morning and going to work, people that enjoy their one week holidays and the captivity from the rest of the year. Real freedom means that you can go where you want when you want and most jobs don’t offer that to people.

If your job doesn’t produce enough money for you to break free then you need to take another job or a better paid one, you have to create other channels from where the money comes to you. Luckily, you may not need to take that many jobs if you take full advantage of this platform and you pave your freedom here.

Cut Expenses And
Manage your Money

If at the end of the month you don’t have enough money that’s because you’re spending too much, you’re buying too many useless stuff, if I can recall correctly, around 33% of a man’s income goes to housing, having a roof over your head. That’s a lot of money no matter how much you make. An option you have in this regard is to downsize; if you’re living alone you don’t need a huge flat, a studio apartment should be enough for you.

What happens with the rest of two-thirds of one’s salary? Well, most of that money is spent on needed expenses like food, water, and heating but there’s a big chunk that remains spare.

I get that people spend money on housing and food but what determinates the difference between them being successful and them being poor is what they are doing with that spare cash. Most of them will just reward themselves with useless "goods" so they can feel better after a shitty month, where they sold their souls again by slowly murdering their dreams.

You don’t need to buy a bigger fucking TV or a smarter phone, in fact, you don’t need those at all, and you also don’t need to get new shiny clothes and bling-bling, in your situation you need money.

Conclusion

An idea would be, no matter what happens in a month, to put aside at least 10% of what you make but after a year that will result in only one full salary, which is excellent but not enough.

Not only that it’s hard to save up 10% with an average salary but at the end of the year will not be enough, not even after ten years. In Romania, $500 would be a fantastic salary and to only have that much spare after one year of hard work would not be a pleasant situation.

Luckily for us, as I said above, we have tools like Steem that can forever change our lives by exponentially increasing our income. If people take full advantage of this platform and the opportunities it has to offer they, will maybe, be able to break out of the rat race and live their lives freely.

As a final note, if you’re still in a situation where money represents an issue for you, but you are on Steem you have to succeed here no matter what and as fast as possible. Think about it, when mass adaption comes, and it will, Steem will have millions of opened accounts and the rate of success then will be low as fuck, but if we grow our accounts now, when that happens we’ll already be making enough money.

This is just the beginning of an amazing journey, good luck my friend.

Good post - I think it was the sociologist George Simmel who first pointed out the liberating potential of money (in response to so many other sociologists who just see it as evil) - capital in the bank and passive income is the way to freedom.

Although it's only one way - I think it's best combined with a frugal mentality - spending less on crap you don't need, as you mention with the T.V.

On that note, I'm developing a kind of 'lock-in' equation for every item I might consume depending on how much it costs me in relation to time. For example £20 on a Domino's pizza, that's 5 hours of freedom down the drain if I need about £100 a day to live off. Not worth it for 30 mins of pleasure (if you eat slowly).

While I personally agree with what you say... earn hard, save down = the root to freedom, I'd be interested in knowing what you think about this guy...

Personally I find him quite inspiring! And he certainly seems free and very content.

Good point about steemit and the new users... I can't imagine earnings being as good once mass adoption happens - although TBH people who post the niche/ quirky shit like ourselves will probably be less affected than the lifestyle travel/ fitness/ food bloggers - anyone can bash those type of posts out.

This topic is so broad that you really get confused which angle to look at it from. A lot of people never make enough because their expenses keep growing relative to their incomes; the more they earn the more they spend. And they wake every morning rushing out to work for someone else, because they are so scared of not having money at the end of the month - that is scarier to some people than fear of death, some actually stare death in the face to make money.

That fear makes them not to try other options - they may lose everything, they may not make enough money - how would they pay the bills at the end of the month.

Yet another emotion, greed make them spend everything they earn now. Their wants are unlimited, they want this and that too.

The cycle just never ends, earn-spend-earn-spend-earn-spend

Any man or WOman that can control these two emotions - fear and greed is on his/her way out of the cycle and on the way to freedom already.

Indeed, a lot of the people are one paycheck away from being homeless, sadly. Greed is never good, but it's way too promoted through mass media even if it's subtle.

I always let your comments at the end because they are the longer and challenging, I appreciate them, thank you.

Just don't be like me and love living in an expensive city. That's a good starting point.

Hehe...live within your means is a golden advice. But don't live in a shithole

I have all the best words for the Steemit as far it concerns the earnings and community, personally, but I don't know how much it makes to others or how confident they are to openly participate.
I make a real commenting sprees at the times, and I saw a lot of great writers who just lack either somebody to push them or to kick them to involve more and to include themselves a little bit, and they will be fine.
The real life situation can be a completely different pair of the sleeves, so many people come here in constrains.

Well said... i've been able to quit the rat race (for a while at least) because i saved close to 80-90% of my wages for 4 years. Have a friend who was earning the same as me but he is still living hand to mouth because his expenses are way too high. Clubbing a few times a week will put a big hole in the pocket.

Very interesting article @guyfawkes4-20, thanks for sharing! We definitely need to find better ways of earning more effectively. Not necessarily "more"... but perhaps we need to be more strategic with our time commitments and geography. Steem definitely addresses this. (As do a number of cryptocurrencies).

You speak about management which is really critical... We live in such an unusual time where debt has been normalized for younger generations. Especially in the US, younger professionals graduate college with enormous 6-figure debt and it becomes a kind of routine that carries over into how they manage credit cards and access personal loans. Ultimately, it seems as if cryptocurrency could be coming at a very unique and perhaps perfect time. A resource like Steem could become the catalyst that triggers a new habit of money management that (is wired for) and resonates with younger folks. Time will tell!

That is a great point indeed; people often sell their dreams because they get paid better over the street, but I feel like to break out of the paradigm people need to acquire a certain financial freedom.

It's crazy indeed, such debt is never worth it, not even for a so-called dream job but people are still lured in by these illusions that they will acquire the life they desire by trusting the system, a thing that doesn't seem to be possible anymore.

It's amazing what cryptocurrencies and especially Steem enabled people to do, the future is really exciting. :D

My goal is to be financially independent of my job via Steem in two years if I haven't already told you.

This year will be about growing.

Next year will be about maintaining and doing the math. Trying to figure out how much I will need to make a week, month, and year on Steemit to keep living the way we are now. Plus, finding out what additional expenses or loss of income I'll take from quitting (health insurance and loss of 401k matching).

Working on laying out a monthly plan now on how I need to grow my crypto each month to make this happen.

You haven't told me, but it is entirely possible, in two years you should at least be a dolphin. Considering the mass adaption that is coming and the price of Steem going through the roof two years from now we should be huge.

Worst case scenario, you move to a cheaper country and live like a king. ;)

McDonald's for a few summers only so they can buy a car

Damm in normal countries people can buy a car by working a few months at McDonald’s? Geez...

And about money, well it is important since that’s the best way to exchange values. There are people who don’t receive basic education about money and I believe that’s a mistake. Money topics should be teached in school so even youngsters can learn how to be responsable about it, adopt the right attitude to achieve success and developed the proper mentality for when they reach adulthood.

After five-six months of working there you can but don't imagine that you can get an amazing car but something at around 2k.

Yeah, that's always sad, all that schools teach about money is that you have to obey and get a job that is paying well, such a limited thinking.

He didn't say what kind of car. I once got a horribly shitty car that barely ran because the dude that was only asking a few hundred to start decided he'd rather just have it off his property.

"As a final note, if you’re still in a situation where money represents an issue for you, but you are on Steem you have to succeed here no matter what and as fast as possible."

Am soo on it.. May whatever u believe in bless u real good. Heaven knows i needed this kind of pep talk. Thanx man.

You seem to be on a great start already, congrats and good luck. ;)

Very good article dear friend, there is another idea to have the money: invest in the cryptocurrency

What's with you and McDonald's the last two articles? Also "you have to" is something I usually throw a middle finger on! You have to make it, you have to earn, you have to... no.

Be peaceful and just do your thing.

Haha, it's fun that you noticed that, it's just an example since most kids coming out of universities today won't be able to get a job better than McDonald's or Starbucks because the system is rigged. Or, I know people that have finished law and they either get a bigger salary for delivering stuff or they get barely enough to live from as a lawyer or what are they in the beginning.

If the people don't have enough to live the kind of life they desire I feel like they have to make more money and get where they want but I do totally understand what you mean, lol. :)
