This topic is so broad that you really get confused which angle to look at it from. A lot of people never make enough because their expenses keep growing relative to their incomes; the more they earn the more they spend. And they wake every morning rushing out to work for someone else, because they are so scared of not having money at the end of the month - that is scarier to some people than fear of death, some actually stare death in the face to make money.
That fear makes them not to try other options - they may lose everything, they may not make enough money - how would they pay the bills at the end of the month.
Yet another emotion, greed make them spend everything they earn now. Their wants are unlimited, they want this and that too.
The cycle just never ends, earn-spend-earn-spend-earn-spend
Any man or WOman that can control these two emotions - fear and greed is on his/her way out of the cycle and on the way to freedom already.
Indeed, a lot of the people are one paycheck away from being homeless, sadly. Greed is never good, but it's way too promoted through mass media even if it's subtle.

Hehe...live within your means is a golden advice. But don't live in a shithole
