Very interesting article @guyfawkes4-20, thanks for sharing! We definitely need to find better ways of earning more effectively. Not necessarily "more"... but perhaps we need to be more strategic with our time commitments and geography. Steem definitely addresses this. (As do a number of cryptocurrencies).
You speak about management which is really critical... We live in such an unusual time where debt has been normalized for younger generations. Especially in the US, younger professionals graduate college with enormous 6-figure debt and it becomes a kind of routine that carries over into how they manage credit cards and access personal loans. Ultimately, it seems as if cryptocurrency could be coming at a very unique and perhaps perfect time. A resource like Steem could become the catalyst that triggers a new habit of money management that (is wired for) and resonates with younger folks. Time will tell!
That is a great point indeed; people often sell their dreams because they get paid better over the street, but I feel like to break out of the paradigm people need to acquire a certain financial freedom.
It's crazy indeed, such debt is never worth it, not even for a so-called dream job but people are still lured in by these illusions that they will acquire the life they desire by trusting the system, a thing that doesn't seem to be possible anymore.
It's amazing what cryptocurrencies and especially Steem enabled people to do, the future is really exciting. :D
