Time for a break...

I've set a calendar entry to remind me to try and search for some placee to sell my power down payments, and that's it for me. I finally got someone to make @ned start to try to make the appearance of answering the genuine concerns of the community.

There's no need for me to continue, because as anyone who has been following me would know, I've been raising the alarm since I first discovered what a clusterfuck steemd is, and when I see all the exchanges with ever increasing outage frequency and duration... I had a Steem deposit jammed up for 19 days at @poloniex. I'm amazed to see, for the first time in over 2 weeks, that they are back online.

Which means, I think, that people are starting to take it more seriously. But of course it never mattered when it was just me dealing with these issues. I'm nobody. It doesn't matter one iota that I was right. I'm not gonna get any prizes for being Cassandra. Cassandra is always hated.

But the situation turns when cassandra stops warning the people, and just gets on the road. Then it turns into a Sodom and Gomorrah.

I didn't start that fire, but I'm gonna be glad whenever someone chimes in at the discord chat to tell me about how everyone is talking about this now and how Stinc is finally fixing the problem.

Not that you are gonna give me any credit for tirelessly, ruthlessly pushing the issue until finally someone who Stink feels they have to answer to, raises the issue.

Enjoy the warmth of the fire!

I got better things to do than continue to be ignored by a bunch of artificially boosted premined accounts that risked zero, compared to the 12 months of dedication I put into this.

Thanks, its been a long time since I roasted marshmallows.

I have only recently found your posts but have enjoyed them very thoroughly. I'm going to hate to see you go as you are a great counter voice to help keep people grounded in reality. Best wishes!

Sorry about that, and sorry to everyone who actually enjoys what I post here. But I'm so tired of being the only one who actually talks about the reality. They all hate me because I'm 'making them look bad' - which is what they deserve, when they are doing bad things.

The last time I had someone tell me that my actions were 'making us look bad', the next day I walked out of that job permanently. I had been struggling with a very difficult issue with a client, and it had been repeatedly asked by me for help with this issue because it seemed like the client's machine was being controlled by another company. I did my best to work around this issue, which of course I could not fix because of hard wired profile configurations that I could at best only disable while they were logged in.

After dealing with that one for 2 days in a row, and repeatedly asking for help to sort it out, then it's my fault that I did my best to help the customer, and I was making the company look bad.

Newsflash to the premined assholes and Stink:

When you do bad things, you look bad. It's not the fault of the person who is trying to bring this to the attention of the community.

I enjoy all I've learned from you. All I can say is that I feel like your presentation makes the information inaccessible. I don't assume wrong intent from any of the people who create this experience for me to enjoy. <3 blessings.

I have to agree. I am more guilty than most of ascribing to malice what is more likely to be stupidity. From doing this a lot, I have learned there's no point in assuming an accusatory tone. For one thing, it makes it much more difficult to get information from suspects.

However, I cannot claim to be certain of malice in this context. I reckon it's possible, and the SEC will sort it out, or at least claim some victims. At this point, CYA should be top priority for them as premined Steem.

@elfspice has made some very good points, albeit with little tact.

recall that the SEC decision to treat crypto-currency as a security is new, and not universal....

I do consider this, and it's relevant. Were the SEC to be considering a new regulation, prior acts would be exempt from that. However, they are just stating that they have authority to regulate securities, and point out that cryptos that perform as securities are subject to their authority.

Steem is, because voting is based on SP holdings. It is a security. Since there is no new regulation, the SEC can apply it's authority to acts prior to this announcement.

That means that premining the Steem and then offering it to the public is a violation of the SEC's rules, and those that have done so remain under threat of SEC prosecution in the USA.

This is an issue that Steemit needs to address, not only regarding premining, but also looking to reduce the entangling regulations that can impact users. I'd prefer to avoid such entanglements. I reckon most folks would too.

this topic definitely deserves a post of it's own.... not sure if I'm the one to handle it. However, if you decide to write an article covering this issue, I will resteem ect. Especially based upon this well written and thoughtful comment

LOL I just wanna write about bunnies, duckies, and flowers =P Somehow, I ended up here...

I saw the post by @benjojo, resteemed and followed too. I hope this does get addressed soon. @furion posted (I also resteemed that) regarding the RPC issue, too.

I also wanna be on Steemit decades from now. I do think Steemit has potential that certain issues regarding vote weighting are strongly repressing, and the current flagging debate highlights some of the ways in which Steemit is failing to attain the full degree of it's potential.

Imma hafta follow you now. You seem too lucid to continue to rely on chance conversations!

these are concerning issues that elfspice brings up and I hope they are addressed by devs\founders. I plan on being here 10 years from now :)

https://steemit.com/steemit/@benjojo/ned-are-we-on-the-verge-of-a-steemtrain-wreck-steemit-inc-please-address-these-concerns

this is a relevant article to some of the other expressed concerns which ned has responded to...

The lack of tact has come from the endless lies and accusations of me being incompetent, and lying, and fudding. Guess what, I was right. https://steemit.com/steem/@furion/updates-on-steem-python-steemdata-and-the-node-situation go read it for yourself.

I actually resteemed that article lol.

While I don't deny that those kinds of pressures have made me lose my cool more than once, that's actually not true.

Nothing, and nobody, can make me do anything. I lost my cool, regardless of what anyone else did. I alone am responsible for my acts and words, as I alone have authority to execute them.

I do not condemn you for anything. I am not your judge, nor your teacher. But I must consider the issues you discuss in the words you use to discuss them, and, believe it or not, it is easier to fault those that have wronged you if you simply state relevant facts, and leave the judgement to the readers.

Ad hominem attacks are something I do not find compelling when applied to me, in fact they strengthen my resolve. I therefore do not find them useful in disputes, because I reckon they do the same to others.

They also clutter technical discussion, which for me is a challenge to wrap my head around.

So, I am not condemning you in any way, but would probably have a better understanding of the particular issues you have raised were there less name-calling and wrathful language.

Totally valid points... The pareto principle is very important when it comes to anger. There is very many good reasons to be angry, but at some point, it's all problem, and it should be 20% problem 80% solution...

How exactly do I present the simple fact that there is a bunch of lying, scamming cunts running this system, that they have been lying to everyone, that there is a whole bunch of them, all painting the world in candy frosting and meanwhile, inside candy mountain, the surgeons are waiting for you to donate your kidney.

Come on, if you can show me how to present such horrible news 'tactfully' and 'nicely' then I'll happily study your methods.

I too appreciate your activity here, the importance of your posts, comments and replies, your measure of involvement and care, and only became aware of your existence yesterday.
This is still good, since I am now aware of your existence and know how to follow you on other platforms, but worse than if I was aware of your existence since joining, but I guess I had to know you somewhere.
One of this platform's best if not the best, and a must to follow.
This place will deteriorate further if you will leave, and I hope you will not leave, or at least return if and when the problems you alarmed about will be fixed.
Consider this too before and after you leave, in case you will leave:
Your presence here helps you increase your exposure and following on other platforms as well, so in addition to the direct financial incentive, you have more reasons.
I as an example, may have never became aware of your existence and value, had it not for both of our presences here, or I might have found you still, about 35 years later than I did.
I suffer a lot from steemd.com's malfunctioning myself, because I use it often due to its wholistic grasp of the entire information in this platform and timing of votes and posts.
These people are probably bad, but are you sure that your alarms reached them?
Maybe they did not, and in such a case is it even true to call it ignoring?

Sorry, but I have to leave because this is sucking up so much of my energy I am not getting anything else, much more important, done. Also, if my leaving has any relation to the place catching fire, it is simply that it already was on fire, but they had been pointing at the smoke and calling it progress.

I am going to start up a blog site running off my own VPS server, this is my assigned task for the day. Once it's up, I will be changing my profiles to direct people there, and making a post on both profiles to announce that I am moving my chatter to that location. I need to keep people up to date with what's happening with DIV, and I am quite sure that there is going to soon be outage issues with the various websites and applications, unless by some miracle, Steemit, Inc has pulled their fingers out, hired at least 5 new front and backend coders, and completely re-engineered the database backend.

Maybe they are doing that now, but it's too late, as far as I'm concerned. There is going to be a massive problem for at least a few days very soon, with no exchangers operating, and no RPC functioning, all at once. It's just a matter of time, the holes are all there, they just need to line up.

@nextgencrypto so, after whining that you couldn't build the steemd, i presume that you got it running, and premined, and now you think your shit don't stink.

It seems this might confirm in my mind what you've been saying:
https://steemit.com/steem/@furion/updates-on-steem-python-steemdata-and-the-node-situation

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

nothing to see here, move along.

We need you and more people like you in the community, to inform and show the danders... personally, please don´t go !!! ... power down if you want but keep on sharing your views about the dangers you see in Steemit

I'm gonna go one better. They keep on trying to provoke me with 'you are free to fork the chain'. Damn straight I am. So, what am I gonna do? That's right, I'm gonna fork the chain. It is going to have the premine removed, all accounts current balances toted up, and a new genesis block created (so to speak, it will be many blocks) and then we just need to find about 25 people to run witnesses, and a webserver to host a web application (I think, I will fork busy, because condenser is more buggy). Then people will be able to take their accounts to the new chain, and we can all organise to get the new chain accepted by the exchanges, and let's see how fast their premined stake drops to zero.

If you manage to do it, it will be better than staying here.
I will move my account to your new platform when I will know about it, if it will have the same joining requirements as this platform, or better.
Currently I have no PC which can be used as a server.
My newest PC is a laptop Quad Core I3 from 2010.
