#SharkSchool Lesson 6: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

in #sharkschool7 years ago

Fuck I'm not gonna lie, I ran out of shit to talk about like 4 posts ago. Definitely squeezing the last bit of toothpaste with this one. But I committed to this #sharkschool thing so looks like I have to stick with it.

The crazy thing is that it seems like people actually believe in me. By the way, whoever recommended that I create a Discord channel is a straight up genius. Best thing I ever did.

Vanity is my favorite sin

I mean, I thought it was an ego boost BEFORE when people just left comments telling me how great I was. Now they actually come to the Discord and tell me in real time. Like a dream come true.

Insane really. I wrote my first rants on here because I was sick of writing crypto posts. If you had told me back then that I would be leading a group of almost 100 people who seem to genuinely want to improve their content and marketing skills, I would have told you to go fuck yourself.

In retrospect, despite the fact that they had no direct connection to my current income stream, writing those posts was genius. Has nothing to do with the STEEM/SBD that I made from using the upvote bots, either. That was just a bonus.

When you plant your flag and establish yourself as the leader of a community (especially one that you created), you automatically give yourself authority. I don't know if it's human nature or what, but when you claim to have a "vision" for how things should be, people are compelled to follow you.

Shit, you think I have any idea what I'm doing? I don't. Literally none. Never done a writing course before. Never taught marketing before. I rarely even got anyone to read anything that I wrote before coming on here.

But the mere act of publicly stating, "Hey, this is what I believe. Here's a group where we can all talk about it," is all it takes to attract people who share your views.

I'm not an expert. I just wrote a few blog posts and started a group.

Let down your golden hair

Sometimes I wonder if people are too scared to express themselves freely or if they're just too stupid to have any original thoughts.

Seriously, I used to think it was the former until literally 5 seconds ago. I had this whole section written about how you should go buck wild and say whatever you want, completely disregarding the people who would inevitably disagree with you.

But now I'm starting to think that people are just so brain-dead that they don't actually have any original viewpoints in the first place. It's not that they're not capable of expressing themselves honestly, it's just that they have no depth as a human being. Even as I write that I find it hard to believe that's the case, but I so far have found little proof to the contrary.

"Let down your golden hair," is an expression from a book called The Story Of Iron John by Robert Bly. I'll spare you the details of the story, but suffice to say that a young boy has fabulous golden hair but is ashamed to show it to anyone because it's so eye-catching. He doesn't want the attention because he feels that he doesn't deserve it.

The book is more social commentary on modern-day masculinity than a self-improvement book, but this phrase is something that many of us could stand to remind ourselves of frequently.

Like I said though, I'm beginning to wonder if all of us even have golden hair to begin with. In the story, the boy is born with it. But in real life, the only way to get some character is through years of prolonged, unbearable suffering. There's no substitute for that. No Discord chat or conference call is going to give that to you. You gotta earn that shit.

Maybe your hair is fucking ugly as shit and you shouldn't let it down. Maybe you should go shampoo that shit and get a haircut before you think about showing it off.

Actually, nevermind. It takes time to get good at something. Don't listen to me.

J E W I S H P R O P A G A N D A

I'm going to assume that most of you know virtually nothing about Jewish history, Judaism or Israel aside from what you see on the news and some racist memes on the internet. So let me educate you:

After WWII, Jews who survived the Holocaust had nowhere to go. After being forced into ghettos, concentration camps and killed en masse in most of Europe, they couldn't go back to their home countries.

So Britain stepped up and "created" the State of Israel. It was under British rule for several years until the country gained independence. That's a whole 'nother can of worms that I don't want to get into right now. Just giving you some backstory.

The effect was that for the first time in thousands of years, you had a country with a virtually 100% Jewish population.

I'll be the first one to admit that the stereotypes about Jews have some truth to them. Yes, we are focused on money. Yes, we do manage to worm our way into high positions in companies/governments. Yes, we do give preferential treatment to each other when possible.

But one thing that few people grudgingly admit is that we're smart as fuck and have a natural tendency to try to use every system to our advantage. We want to be the ones pulling the strings, not the other way around.

This works great when you're in a place where nobody else thinks the same way. But how do you think it works when everyone wants to be the boss?

Well, look no further than the State of Israel for an indication of how that would work. Here are some stats for those of you who have no idea where I'm going with this:

  • In regards to its population, Israel has the highest ratio of college degrees.
  • The same goes for the ratio of its museums...
  • .…and startup companies!
  • Israel is the only country to revive an unspoken language and establish it as its national tongue.
  • An Israeli company has developed the world's first jellyfish repellent.
  • AOL Instant Messaging was designed by an Israeli software company.
  • Motorola developed the cell phone in Israel.
  • The city of Beersheba has the highest number of chess grandmasters per capita in the world.
  • Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books.
  • Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship in the world.
  • Israel has the largest amount of companies listed in NASDAQ after the U.S. and Canada.
  • Israeli dairy cows are the most productive in the world.
  • 11.6% of the world's billionaires are Jewish

Source, source and source.

What do you think leads to this level of ingenuity from such a small number of people?

Do you think it's because they think small? Do you think they like to just accept what people tell them is possible and play by the rules? Do you think it's because they're content to work for someone else instead of creating something of their own?

Anyone who has ever met an Israeli knows the answer.

Having lived there for years and worked in an Israeli dominated industry for nearly a decade, I can tell you that these people LIVE to find better ways to do things. Every conversation is an argument. That's just our mentality.

People like to talk shit about Jews/Israelis and say we control the world, that none of our gainz are based on merit but result from some elite Jewish cabal, that what we've earned despite thousands of years of persecution is somehow ill-gotten.

Sorry people, that's not the case. It's because we're fucking smart. Deal with it.

How to make friends even if you're a loser

So for those of you who are somehow unaware of my rise to fame here on this wonderful platform, let me take you through the timeline:

  1. Month 1 - write boring crypto articles to establish myself as an "expert"
  2. Month 2 - rant about low-effort content on Steemit for fun
  3. Month 3 - write about how to create entertaining content and promote yourself via #sharkschool

Once I learned that most exposure on here is purchased, my little Jew brain went to work to figure out a way to use that to my advantage. I figured that with enough visibility, I could expose people to my work and deliver my message.

Sure enough, it seemed to work. Some people liked what I had to say, others didn't. I gradually felt more and more confident in my posts and gained enough momentum to drop the bomb: that I was going to start #sharkschool - a course teaching people how to be entertaining and informative while promoting themselves in the process.

The shitty part was that after I made that post, I actually had to start doing the work.

Not gonna lie, I was tempted to be like, "Okay sorry guys, I don't have time for this shit. I got shit to do. Peace."

In the comments, someone suggested that I start a Discord chat. I'm like alright, sure why not. I was more of a Telegram man myself, but whatever.

Anyway, I create this Discord chat and people actually start joining. Not only that, they seem genuinely excited to be there. Now, I've never run a chat like this before, so I literally had no idea what to do. I was so busy that I would only check in for a few minutes a day, thinking that it would just kind of run itself.

Nope. After a few days I realized that if I wasn't there making things happen, nothing was going to happen. These people joined the group because of me. They joined because they liked my style. They liked what I had to say.

Fuck, I don't know what they liked, but for some reason they started spending time in there instead of doing something else.

I can also honestly say that I'm surprised with the quality of people that have joined the group as well. I normally think that everyone is an idiot except for me and a few of my friends, but I've actually met some intelligent people in there who seem to know what they're doing.

And because I set the proper tone for the group as a place with high standards for quality, a constant drive for progress and improvement, and an emphasis on monetizing content - it attracts the right people and fosters conversations around topics that I am personally interested.

I'm not going to lie and say I want to make the world a better place by helping people. Or that I want to make Steemit the best gosh darn way to kill time on the internet since 8 Bit Theatre.

Nah. I'm doing it for my ego, my bank account, and the hope that someday I'll be able to leverage the community for some kind of tangible gain. It's 100% for @yallapapi.

But what people don't seem to understand is that the nature of a successful business is that both sides win. I am not forcing these people to spend their time there or tag their posts with #sharkschool. I'm not making them volunteer to be mods or promote the group on their own time.

They all want to do it because they see the potential of the group. And I'm sure if you ask them why they're doing it, they're not going to say because they want to be my friend. They're there because they feel they believe in the direction the group is headed, or are at least curious enough to keep an eye on it.

I'm your guy. See attached

When I started freelancing just under three months ago, I had literally no idea how I would get clients.

I knew I wanted to do social media marketing and I thought ICOs would be a good place to start. But other than that I was clueless.

Crypto was booming and blockchain startups were flush with investor money. Plus, your average startup CEO is fairly young and understands the importance of having a positive digital footprint. I headed to Google and searched for a list of upcoming ICOs.

First result: ICOAlert.com - A goldmine of fresh ICO leads.

I spent the next two weeks manually scraping email addresses off of websites of upcoming ICOs. I'd sent 20 emails one day, 30 another and eventually worked my way up to 50. As time went on, I would add more detail to the email until it grew to just over 700 words.

That's pretty massive for an introductory email. But people responded. Some of them even paid me.

Now that the crypto market is bleeding out, I'm recruiting new clients from other industries. But now that I have a sizable web of influence on the web, I don't need to try as hard to sell myself to clients.

Most of them probably have no idea what Steemit is, but when they see the posts that I've written, it proves to them that I know what I'm talking about. I've said many times that I doubt any of them even read any of the posts. But just the fact that they skim through and see the work I've put into them is enough for them to believe I can do what I say I can.

And since I am selling social media marketing, I also show them some of the bigger pages that I manage. I show them my personal account that's almost at 50k followers. If they bother to click on any of my pics to read the caption, they'll see that I push the limits of Instagram's 2000 character restriction on picture captions.

The cherry on top is this Discord chat. Think about it: this guy who runs a fucking dry cleaners in Houston can either hire some Indian guy from Upwork to handle his Instagram or he can hire me. Who is he going to choose?

I don't even subject them to a 700 word email anymore. I just attach a PDF that explains what I do and write one line telling them to read it. Easy peasy.

There are no ugly women, only lazy ones

The above quote is by a woman named Helena Rubenstein. Here's the Wikipedia info because I'm too lazy to write it in my own words:

Helena Rubinstein (born Chaja Rubinstein; December 25, 1872[2] – April 1, 1965) was a Polish American businesswoman, art collector, and philanthropist. A cosmetics entrepreneur, and was the founder and eponym of Helena Rubinstein Incorporated cosmetics company, which made her one of the world's richest women.

Doesn't matter what you're doing in life, if you want to do a good job then you must put in a massive amount of effort. I don't think there are many people who would try to argue with that.

So then why is it that everywhere you look, people come up with literally every excuse in the book to validate their laziness?

  • It's this person's fault I'm not successful
  • My parents didn't pay enough attention to me as a child
  • My parents paid too much attention to me as a child
  • The staff is too involved in what goes in with this company
  • The staff isn't involved enough
  • It's this group's fault that I'm not getting what I want

Look, if you live in Sudan and spend your time trying to stop people from ethnically cleansing you, then you get a pass. Everyone else that has a computer and working internet connection, what's your excuse?

I'm not saying this as some internet millionaire who bangs five thousand dollar escorts every night in my Ferrari. I'm a loser just like you. But I BELIEVE that I have the capability to change my loserness through nothing more than sheer effort and creativity.

Regardless of whether or not that belief is based on reality, the fact is that the belief ITSELF influences my behavior.

Because I believe that I have the power to change things for the better, I choose to spend my time in a certain way. I don't waste time coming up with rationalizations as to why I'm in the situation I'm in, but instead work on ways to improve it.

And let's not kid ourselves - it takes a massive amount of work to get notoriety and the money that comes with it. You have to work on it every single day, regardless of whether or not you see any immediate results - until one day you do.

Or maybe you don't. But that's the chance you take.

I'll admit, I started out with a lot of advantages compared to a lot of people. I'm a white American from Los Angeles, and a Jew to boot. I speak fluent English and by chance benefited from the discipline and "character" that results from the soul-crushing tedium of military service.

Most people don't have those advantages. Fine. I get it. You can't control the color of your skin or the family you were born into.

But you know what you CAN control? The effort you put into the things to which you commit your allotted 24 hours. You can control how much you exercise or which hairs you pluck from between your eyebrows. You can control the amount of time you spend on writing a blog post or prospecting for new clients.

And not only that, but nobody is going to do it for you. Whether that's having the body of a Greek God, becoming a pro athlete or even just making a few grand per month so you can fuck off to Thailand - it's all up to you.

It all depends on the amount of effort you put into your work. Even if the odds are stacked against you. Even if you don't have the means to take advantage of whatever system(s) you're currently participating in.

You need to believe that you are the one who controls it, even when it's obvious that you don't even have the ILLUSION of control. That's the only way you'll even have a chance to get to where you want to be.

Without that, you might as well not even try.

What do you think the secret to success is?

I knew a guy whom others called a “Jewban”. He was a Jew from Cuba. Others were jealous of his success and smarts. These “others” are so predictable to be assholes. If they could, they would have circle jerked downvoted him.

Were the “others” jealous of Yeshua? Damn right! So much that they nailed him to the cross.

Did some kind of quantum exploding just occur down near the Planck length, or did I just see my arch-nemesis take a comment about some Jewish stuff and sneak in a little “Yeshua” snark at the end of it.

I didn’t think it was possible for me to loathe your anti-science, pseudo-economical gibberish more, but now...now I realize that I’m going to have to hold on to a really deep and strong hope that you, Jin Hae have an actual soul somewhere deep within you that SOMEHOW, SOMEDAY, can channel to stop being so harmful and fundamentally misinformed about everything you do and say.

Yyyyyyyyuck

Wisdom needs experience and life time !

no wonder people envy jewban .. because jewban have advantages .. and people deserve envy jewban called assholes.. 😂

The only way to ensure more wins than losses in competition is to be better than most of the competitors. That, or lucky...or a criminal...or a psychopath...or a fuck-wit with a rich daddy (equals fixed games).

If I had the choice, I'd go with the fuck-wit and the billionaire's nut-sack from whence he came (no pun intended) . Ignorance is bliss and conservation of energy is the natural preference, all else being equal. I'd much prefer a million dollars without a bit of effort than I would being required to give up years of my life in work and years more in stress accumulation from said work.

The ideal, as I see it, my conception of the "ultimate success", is to be in a constant state of pure ecstasy, that of which no sexual orgasm can even touch, and, in that state of spontaneous mental masturbation, to create a self-feeding loop of reinforcing that state of mind by having the "outside world" constantly sucking your dick in so many ways that you lose count, which assures that the aforementioned state of mind will amplify to its highest peak.

I tend to think that someone like Donald Trump is close to achieving that level of success. As a man who's higher on himself than most could ever get on Meth, you'll find that thousands of men would die to merely defend his statements. Total air-head, dick-suckers, the whole lot, but who am I to judge a man like Trump for taking total advantage of these clowns? We're all animals. We all like the idea of being a god, or, better yet, thee God, so, if I'm to be 100% honest with myself, I must admit that I'm a bit jealous of that particular aspect of Trump. However, I do prefer my hair over... that thing he has...

Unfortunately, having been much higher than the clouds on more than one occasion in my three decades of existence in this meat sack with a far too big ego for the size of its sexual appendage, I can say with a fair amount of confidence that no such state of bliss can be achieved, not for more than a few weeks, max. Alas, every up has a come down, nay, a CRASH.

The universe always gets in the last "fuck you", if not while the bulb is still hot then right before the screen goes permanently black.

This game is called "". God doesn't care enough to even give it a title. He gives no fucks about you! But that needn't be a negatively experienced fact. The key, as I see it, is to be like God. Just give no fucks and be free, mutherfuckas!

PS fuck-off!

#fuckoff #notreallythough #mostlysatire

Ha. Rick James gets sloppy seconds to me!

Let me get this straight.
You are trying to say that do whatever pleases you, say whatever makes you happy and all this will not have any consequence?

It was mostly said tongue in cheek, but I do feel that some of what I said has some truth to it.

That said, absolutely not. There are definitely consequences to our actions, or lack thereof. Whether or not those consequences extend beyond death, I wish I knew.

I think a big key to being successful is to stop trying to please other people and choosing to live your own life, basing your decisions on what you feel deep down to be the right move for you. And that can be more difficult than we may first suspect.

@yallapapi
I commend you for your well-written post. It might have a weird title, but it's certainly entertaining and I personally think it adds value to STEEM. Also, the guidelines for Sharkschool are on point.

I will, however, call bullshit on your "J E W I S H P R O P A G A N D A" argument. Biological races do not exist among humans. Anthropologists, geneticists, sociologists, and psychologists all agree on this objective truth. Be proud of your heritage and culture, that's cool. But just understand that there is really no difference between Jews and gentiles. Successful people come in all colors and sizes. Same goes for the lazy. There is only one evolutionary lineage of humanity. Subspecies or "races" are a myth, mostly propagated by governments and dark occultists.

To be "בהצלחה" or successful is to accomplish goals that give you the most satisfaction and happiness (while respecting the life, liberty, and property of others).

Can't comment on that as I'm not a scientist and haven't done any research other than a few Google searches. Admittedly I meant it more in terms of a cultural thing than anything else. You have Jews from all over the world so it's hard to say that we're genetically unique, despite the fact that over the past 2k years most Jews have not married outside their religion (the ones who did generally don't raise Jewish families (and end the bloodline).

Successful people come in all colors and sizes. Same goes for the lazy. There is only one evolutionary lineage of humanity. Subspecies or "races" are a myth, mostly propagated by governments and dark occultists.

Don't disagree there either. Like I said, I think it comes from the mentality of being raised a certain way. Jewish values are fairly straightforward and most of us tend to live in communities surrounded by each other which reinforce these values. If anything I think this is what leads to our success as a relatively small population. Thought that was clear from my post, maybe I should have clarified it better.

To be "בהצלחה" or successful is to accomplish goals that give you the most satisfaction and happiness (while respecting the life, liberty, and property of others).

בהצלחה = "good luck"

הצלחה = "success"

Thanks for the response @yallapapi.
Your arguments were clear and concise. It was my intention to remind and inform readers with a strong statement that we are all just people. It is my belief that once we stop focusing on race and nationalism we can solve some of humanities biggest issues and build a more free world.
Thanks for the Hebrew correction. Google let me down. lol

@slickwilly @yallapapi You guys may be shocked to discover that we recently finished translating (in 2014) a series of cuneiform tablets found in Sumeria which are now setting the record for the oldest known human writings on earth.

They predate all world religion and are the literal source texts for the Christian Bible, Islamic Quran, Babylonian Enûma Eliš, Hindu Bhagavad Gita, Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Buddhist Dhammapada and more.
tab.jpg
Example of Cuneiform Writings - Cuneiform was not a language itself, but a system of writing which could be used to transcribe multiple languages such as Babylonian, Akkadian and Sumerian.

But what these tablets say doesn't just turn all the major religions upside down, it is literally revolutionary. The texts change everything we thought we knew about ancient civilization.

However, since the tablets were only recently translated in 2014 and are still largely being shrouded in mystery thanks to the conspiracy theory crowd misrepresenting what they actually say, most people have not yet discovered them or realize their significance.

Even if you are completely non-religious, these cuneiform tablets prove that our ancient ancestors not only had the ability to use geometric calculations to predict the motion of Jupiter almost 2000 years PRIOR to what we previously thought was only possible in the 1400s A.D. by English and French mathematicians, but they also accurately describe the asteroid belt which was not discovered by modern man until the 1800s and even then not clearly observed until the invention of more powerful telescopes.

The texts also describe DNA, artificial insemination, navigation systems (with glowing screens), and many other things that should be impossible by our current understanding of ancient history. I have personally read the first Sumerian to English translation of one set of these tablets (there are hundreds, I have read about 30) so I am speaking from direct experience. They described what Earth looks like from space, they describe how anything that enters our atmosphere from space heats up and catches on fire, and they go into far more controversial topics as well which become hard to prove due to their anecdotal nature.

But no one can argue with the cold hard fact that this civilization should NOT have been able to describe the things I mentioned above. Truly, these tablets show us that ancient man had far more advanced technology than we ever dreamed, and somehow this knowledge was lost prior to the Babylonian and Akkadian civilization only to be unearthed thousands of years later and remain in storage for many years still before being translated in 2014.

The reason no one knows is because what these tablets say forces us to completely reexamine what we thought we knew about the past, it practically destroys every major religion (if I told you who the "Gods" were according to the ancient Sumerian civilization, you would shit your pants) and it makes Egyptologists look like they don't know what they're talking about.

If you would like to know more, I am willing to write a more in-depth article or make a video. In fact, I am open to collaboration if you are willing to put time into researching this and making a video with me.

After all I have 13 years of professional experience in Electronic Music Production (my career) and I am an amateur video producer as well. So please let me know if you would like to combine your talents with mine to get this knowledge out and discuss it. These are some very important discoveries and so far no one is talking about it on steemit.

Since I took so long to write this response, I will be cross-posting it on my account as a short article as well. Thank you for reading if you got this far!!

Scientists shy away from the topic for political reasons, nothing more. Haplogroups do impart advantages and disadvantages depending on the environment.

Thank you for introducing me to this new word! A haplogroup is a genetic population group of people who share a common ancestor on the patriline or the matriline. Haplogroups are assigned letters of the alphabet, and refinements consist of additional number and letter combinations

So now we have a post titled "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" from a guy whose banner reads "Send nudes" on top of trending? Gj STEEM holders.

So now we have an author with a sense of humor who can write an entertaining 3000 word post without taking himself too seriously. Gj STEEM holders.

FTFY

I had a laugh or two reading your post. I just find it ridiculous to have this as the number one on trending due to spamming upvote-bots. If you have original content written for STEEM only that you think is funny and unique on which you are not spamming upvote bots like this, then feel free to link-drop me them on steem.chat and I'll upvote 2 to compensate for the flag.

You know @yallapapi's posts are a thousand times better than most posts that hit the trending page. The banner and the title are part of the persona. You have to have a certain degree of sophistication to get that.

You have to have a certain degree of sophistication to get that.

Spare yourself from adding that kind of jibberish. I get the person and the content and think there is a place on steemit for guys like him to make a decent buck writing his type of content and engaging with his type of audience. If there are many of you who enjoy his style here on steemit who now came across him thanks to his post going to Trending then good for you/him.

But I still maintain that the Blockchain has mechanics to both upvote and downvote for a reason, and I see nothing wrong in using that ability.

I appreciate the offer but I'll pass this time around. It sounds like you just flagged me on principle. I wonder if you flagged the rest of the posts on Trending as well? Hmm looks like you didn't. All good brother I won't take it personally.

Alright.
Well, no single STEEM holder should have to take on the responsibility of consistently flagging and policing all posts. It ought to be the joint responsibility of the community to also flag when disagreeing on rewards. If only enough to make over-use of bots less attractive.

I have nothing against you, I just believe the current state of STEEM and what content it surfaces is very far from where I want the platform to be, nor that it represents "proof of brain" as the SMT whitepaper claims the steemit-model is a proven example of. So I just think people in general should be better at occasionally throwing a flag at the content they see as grossly over-valued. I am very much against people bullying individual users or trying to crush them with flags on all posts that they do. But using our ability to give both positive and negative influence ought to be used both ways.

Gj with the comment, but nobody will do anything, because everyone is busy making money, people forgot this was a content platform.

I'm sorry, are you saying that this post is somehow not content because of the title or my banner image? I'd be interested to hear your reasoning for that.

My comment has nothing to do with you, particularly.

This is a content-based platform and the most extraordinary content should be on the trending and hot pages.

That never happened before or after bid bots.

So there is nothing new here!

BTW, your post is quite better than any other post I can see on the trending page, and there are many other writers on steemit, who write a lot better, but they never make to the top.

Some of them don't even earn 1$ on their posts, so this page could be a lot better than it is now, or it was before bid bots.

No offence intended!

"Gj STEEM holders" LMAOOOO

wow thats a good occasion to write a senseless reply and upvote myself too. . .
