How not achieving everything you want can be beneficial
Some know what they want to do "when they grow up" from childhood. Others find it harder to choose a path.
Most individuals, if not everyone, ask: what will I do with my life? A dimension establishes your goal: happiness.
Few people say they want a tranquil existence as adults. Exactly what is this goal?
Passion and dreams appear to dominate our civilization. The most popular TV series feature people competing to live their goals.
Success, being first, standing out, achieving something no one has, and achieving a dream are the ways to go.
The price we may pay to get there or that we may have different aims is never mentioned. Living quietly is another choice.
The ego's need to stand out
Gifts and talents don't always make you happy.
Today, we say that if we accomplish anything well, we must exploit it, make it available to someone who can judge it, and make a career doing it (and let others do it too).
We are told our talent makes us exceptional and must be shared.
Intellectually gifted people experience the same. Smarter people are pressured to “go to high school” or study harder subjects.
Even though it seems strange, we cannot “waste” such a fantastic talent on education, limiting our alternatives. You can't waste a wonderful talent for happiness.
Not getting everything you desire can be good.
We readily imagine a joyful and fantastic life full of professional and personal acclaim, luxury we can afford thanks to our amazing work, and plenty of opportunity to live a dream life, like we see on TV.
We use this to set goals. We think this is best.
However, we often forget things because we are so concentrated on doing what we want or what is required.
This pursuit of success causes stress, affects our personal relationships, and makes us forget our emotional and spiritual selves.
Many successful people, huge names in their field, live at the limits of their physical strength and reason without talking about their health.
Pressured people who have no choice but to keep going because they have no other option.
You undoubtedly likely know people who quit pursuing a life-changing goal and profited from it, or who had to stop.
Quote about them:
Remember: sometimes not receiving what you desire is a blessing.”
Being flexible to bear blows and using failure to grow inwardly, looking within yourself rather than beyond yourself, is the solution.
Want to be and have what? Accepting life's cards can help you play well.
The goal of life is happiness.
Is happiness a goal for others? We all know it's hard, at least in today's society and our tendency to complicate our lives.
Simplifying things can help you find happiness.
Everyone must choose their own path to this road without feeling guilty and appreciating others' paths.
