Vlog #70: Steemfat: Using beers with friends as fuel for a sunday morning gym session :)
Yesterday I worked the whole day in Rotterdam.
When I got home Bianca was gone (out with her girls) and my oldest friend Ben came over for a visit.
I have been on this diet for about 5-6 days now and the question is. What do you do?
I don't see my friend that often.
I don't mind being healthy but I don't want it to stand in the way of having a good time. I decided to indulge.
Beer and Grill session it was...and it was fun and it made me relax.
This morning I went to the gym with Bianca to make it up.
800 calories in one hour....I'm not sure if that's enough to offset the sins of yesterday :)
Steemfat is still in full effect.
Today on the bike
The night before
I had these nice ribeye steaks.
When my friend Fabio heard there was a Beer and Grill session going on he came round as well.
He brought with him these amazing ribs we grilled on the BGE

Great to see Steemfat still in full swing. Are you going to keep going to the gym on Sunday or is this just a one time thing? I think it will be a great idea if you can pull yourself to do a session on Sunday to mitigate that wine and beer you have been drinking to enjoy the moment. It seems like Bianca had her helping of beer as well haha
842 calories burned. Jeez that is quite a lot. At the gym do you only do cardio on the treadmill or do you do other stuff as well since an hour on the treadmill seems like a pretty long time and it must be agonising but a relief towards the end.
I guess it is fine just having a one off meal with your friend and who can resist when you cook up a delicious ribeye steak like that. I guess it is good to get a bit of meat into your system but I guess just don't do it consistently.
One last thing before I head off, I did a review of Dunkirk. I was supposed to post it last week after you and Eqko watched it but I forgot in the end.

This might become a permanent thing actually. Normally in the gym, I do 20 min of cardio and weight training after. Today I felt like just biking. It went well considering :) I'll check out your review now!

Congrats on getting to the gym and keeping up with Steemfat brother!! Putting aside the time to invest in your health is important but sometimes it's easier to just say the hell with it, I'll do it tomorrow. Kudos to Bianca for being that motivation to get you there. I know some days I'll put it off and my mind will come up with every excuse not to go, then after I'm done I feel great and wonder why I made it so hard to convince myself to go in the first place. The human mind is a strange thing indeed.
I think it's great you relaxed and indulged last night. You have to reward yourself every now and then, that makes the times you let yourself have what you crave that much sweeter. I've learned when you indulge a lot I start to take things for granted and just see it as a way of life I can do everyday, which it should not be. Too many people depend on us and we need to make sure we'll be around for this wonderful ride we call life.

Gotta have at least one day a week where you can let go, IMHO. Otherwise, you'll feel deprived and that's no fun. It's about balance. I do Sundays, myself, with Saturdays an optional workout day when I run errands. Monday through Friday, I walk 4-5 miles a day and work out with weights (MWF). Works for me, but maybe others are different. Probably are! LOL My 2 cents, Mark. @exyle 😊
Week ends and diets just don't mix. I am also on a diet again, but today my brother, father and I went to a big classic car show called "cars in the park" and we also packed the gas braai and a few beers in, needless to say the diet came to an abrupt end!! Will start again on Monday.
The "splurge" of yesterday will have little or no negative effects I think. Also because this morning you already burned 800 cal. Good you had the discipline to go to the gym btw. You must have sweated a lot so don't forget to drink some extra water today.

I don't consider them meddling man. Don't worry. I sweated a lot indeed while biking. Drank 1,5 L. Still drinking loads right now. Bit dehydrated maybe :)
Good thing; 842 cal. is quite a lot; one can never drink enough, during and after cardio (water, no beer hè) haha
I really wouldn't worry too much about your cheat day/splurge too much. As long as it doesn't become habitual and is just once in while, I don't see too much harm in it. You exercised afterwards to help counteract the effects so it shouldn't have that much of an impact.
Yes, you may need few more days of heavy workout to repent your sins but i am sure that session of grill food, which you had with your friends is worth repenting the whole week...
I think it was worth it as well.
