A very thoughtful report today. I just realized that dinner and supper are different meals to some people in the world. In the US, they sort of both mean dinner.

Interesting. I thought supper meant "evening meal after dinner / just before bed". I might also be wrong. -- Ah, here it is: https://www.wordnik.com/words/supper

We're both correct:

A light evening meal when dinner is taken at midday.

Food consumed before going to bed.

Any meal eaten in the evening; dinner eaten in the evening, rather than at noon.

To eat dinner.
