10 Amazing Ways to Use Coconut Oil!!!
Hey guys. In today's post we are going to take a look at some healthy ways to use coconut oil that you might not have been aware of. Lets get to it!
Number 1: Cooking & Eating. Coconut oil has a high smoking point. This makes coconut oil a better choice for cooking compared to vegetable oils that can actually oxidize when exposed to heat. Coconut oil will maintain a better balance of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids at higher temperatures making it healthier to digest on your body. Try using coconut oil to fry eggs, roast vegetables in the oven, blend in your coffee to start your day for a huge energy boost, add to smoothies to increase your energy with the oil's MCTs (Medium Chain Triglycerides), and even eating it by the spoonful right out of the jar.
Number 2 Coconut Oil Skin Care & Beauty. You can get very creative with coconut oil when it comes to skin and beauty care. Lets make a quick list:
-Shaving Lotion: close shave & a moisturizer at the same time
-Facial Scrub: combine with Himalayan Crystal Salt & apply to face each night
-Body Scrub: combine coconut oil & sugar
-Makeup Remover
-Body Moisturizer
-Facial Moisturizer
-After Sun Care if you've gotten too much sun
-Dry Feet Treatment: mix with salt to form a foot scrub
Number 3 Coconut Oil Hair Care. Coconut oil is both safe and healthy to use in your hair. You can leave-in overnight for a deep conditioning, use as a defrizzer of split ends, and as a static reducer.
Number 4 Homemade Toothpaste. Combine equal parts coconut oil & baking soda. Sweeten with stevia and flavor with your favorite essential oil.
Number 5 Homemade Deodorant. Click on this link for a Natural Deodorant Recipe made with Coconut Oil

Number 6 Lip Balm. DIY recipe to make your own Coconut Oil Lip Balm (Makes 3/4 oz)
-4 tsp coconut oil, melted
-3 tsp sweet almond or apricot kernel oil
-2 tsp grated beeswax
-5-10 drops sweet orange oil or any essential oil of choice
In a small pot combine the coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and beeswax. Melt over low heat until everything is liquid and whisk to combine. Remove from the heat and whisk in the essential oil. Place the lip balm into a jar or tube and allow to sit, undisturbed for at least 20 minutes or until firm. That's it!
Number 7 Thyroid Support. Regular coconut oil consumption has been shown to support healthy thyroid function.
Number 8 All Natural Sunscreen. Approximately 75% of commercial sunscreens are linked to cancer, chemicals, and are disruptive to hormones. Sunscreen with a rating of 100 SPF and stronger will block out UVB rays. This prevents our body from receiving the necessary sun rays to produce the hormone Vitamin D. Coconut oil by itself has an SPF of around 10. When combined with other ingredients such as non-nano zinc oxide, you can raise the SPF to around 30. Perhaps I will do a DIY on making your own Coconut Sunscreen in the upcoming future.
Number 9 Massage Oil. Coconut oil is an all natural way to nourish and replenish the skin and makes for a great massage oil. Many commercial massage oils contain artificial ingredients and additives, making them inferior products compared to coconut oil.
Number 10 Season a Cast Iron Pan. This a vegan-friendly alternative to seasoning as opposed to using an animal fat.

Awesome! Thanks for reading. Coconut Oil is pretty amazing.
Very up-to-date. I've been using it for years. The melting/"freezing" temperature is 80 degrees. Yep. It's liquid in the summer and solid all winter.
Thanks for the comment lyfo. My coconut oil is all liquid right now...hot day today in NYC.
You will know time has slowed down for you when you watch the coconut oil freeze and thaw over a couple of seasons.
I use coconut oil as moisturiser, to cook with, as a creamer in coffee, to treat wounds, as a salve to soothe sunburn, keep my dogs coats glossy and healthy, I eat a tablespoon a day..it helps lower cholesterol, and absorbs and expels fats in the liver.
Try using coconut flour too.
Wow, you're a coconut specialist. Thanks for sharing!

I was first introduced to coconut oil while my family was living overseas. We could also purchase high quality coconut oil at a great price.
When we lived in the tropics our coconut oil was always liquid because the average temperature was always above 76 degree fahrenheit. Now that we are back in the States, I usually only see coconut oil as a solid, due to air-conditioning and winter weather.
I forgot to mention that in the post...It's important to purchase high quality coconut oil. Cold-pressed, virgin, unrefined. Thanks for the share.
Not to forget , you can use coconut oil to make curry too !!!
Great advice. I made curry shrimp...that may be a new post. Be on the lookout.
