7,886 Reps From 9 Steemians After 21 Days - The Steem Daily 100 Rep Fitness Challenge - 50 Push-ups & 50 Squats - Day 22 (9/5)
I can't bend the rules. I did 50 reps before bed and drifted off before finishing my own challenge. I'd already posted twice on other topics $6,000 of goods found in the recycling in 24 hours and on whale Steem curation rates, so I wasn't in a hurry to over-post, and then faded for the night.
I also didn't wake up this AM and "complete" the challenge with another quick 50 because that'd be cheating. While interest in this challenge is small now, I can't skip posting since since some Steemians are making strides with it. I can't pull the plug now.
***To participants, act as if I posted this about 12 hours ago.
Day 21 Overview: 300 reps from 3 Steemians that completed the challenge.
Let's grow this healthy community now by spreading the word and contributing some reps. This is for your health.
To people new, see the kickoff post linked below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.
What's the challenge? 50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. See my video. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just reach 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link, or video. We're on the honor system.
If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!
My Reps: 40 push-ups and 10 squats - INCOMPLETE / Not counted for Day 22.
The push-ups are becoming very easy! The squats, not so much. My legs definitely need more rest. I have two baseball games on Sunday and might need to do more push-ups to recharge them properly, or take another day or two off (do other body parts instead). My triceps and chest feel amazing and are looking great. It's time to balance out some "pull" exercises as the next priority to make sure I'm not ignoring other areas.
On that note, I did another 11 curls on the 75 pound bar to keep warming up my biceps for more intense work around the corner.

To any interested Steemians who want more info/background: *Please see this link from the kickoff post for details.
Everyone please support and encourage the team here. They're working hard to build a community the hard way. It's about the bigger picture.
Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Don't have your elbows too wide on the floor. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.
Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.
Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.
We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.
Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here, and you will see and feel results.
Rep on,
@steemmatt
P.S. - Please use the fitnesschallenge tag if you can.
I did 5 times your daily challenge ;)

HAH. I was going to ask yesterday if you wanted to make the reps harder on yourself or a new time target, but you did the challenge 5 times to answer that question. I'd ask what you eat to do this, but I've seen your posts and half of it scares me.
I got mine in.
6x15 squats, 4x18 pushups
162 reps total.
Hi! I didn't have much time yesterday, so it had to be a quick one. 20x3 squats and 10x3 pushups. That's only 90. But I also did 12 pull-ups (no rubber band), 12 gunjacks (same as pull-ups but with neutral wrist position) and 3 sets to failure of weighted russian v-up twists.
Happy to see you all again! I'm just going to pretend like nothing happened :)
Woah!!! Welcome back!! Excellent first splash. Since it’s 100 of those 2 rep types to qualify for now, could you please squeeze in 10 more somehow to officially lock the challenge up and make your country proud? 5 of each to cool down? We’ll talk later... I’m out on the curbs looking for things to sell.
Aye. Done.
That's the spirit. Good work on all of the other exercises. Think you're going to stick around a bit for the challenge or will you break out hearts again by leaving for 7 months again?
Have you been working out all along and staying in shape? How have things been during our crypto winter?
Thanks for the welcome by the way, I appreciate it. I've been pretty persistent with my workout schedule of three workouts a week, hitting different muscle groups on each session. I changed it up about a month ago, because I started rock climbing! It's so much fun I can't even understand it.
So my new schedule is now two strength sessions and two climbing/bouldering sessions a week: In my strength sessions I hit the whole body each session, trying to alternate push and pull exercises.
In the past couple of weeks however, I've failed to follow up my on it because I'm in the process of moving. It has taken all my energy and all of my time, but I'm nearing the end now. And I'm not worried, because I can't wait to get back to my routine as soon as I'm well rested. My body and mind just need some days to process all the changes. I squeezed in the challenge at the end of this marathon, and it took my lasts drops of energy, which is why I'll be waiting a couple of days before committing further.
I will try to stick around for the challenge and not break all the hearts, though. At the very least I won't disappear for 7 months at a time..
My crypto winter is a long story best saved for later. So how you've been? I've read your posts from time to time and I gotta be honest, I admire your persistence.
