Welcome to the Fourth week of The Comedy Open Mic Contest. This post is to define the rule of the #comedyopenmic contest. These are version 1 of the rules, so please read carefully. These rules will be valid until a new version comes out.

Rules for Judges

• Contest will run for a minimum of 4 8 weeks, and will continue to run as long as it is sustainable. Due to overwhelming support from donors (below) we will extend this contest for a further 4 weeks
• Prizes to be sent out within 24hrs of contest round closing
• @comedyopenmic will announce start and end of every round (approx 4am GMT Fridays, this will be adjusted if needed)
• Judges will do their best to review all entries
• Every effort will be made for @comedyopenmic to upvote all entries
• A big thank you to @steemmatt for his time and effort in upvoting everybody and ensuring @comedyopenmic spread the upvote love in round 3.
• This week @idikuci will be given control over the @comedyopenmic account to upvote and comment on contestant's entries.

Do you want to be a judge?

Read all the entries, comment on contestant posts. Leave a positive trail of happiness and laughter behind you like you fart laughing gas and we will notice. Our most active curators and contestants will be asked to join us as guest judges on a week to week basis.

Rules for Contestants

• Contestants must nominate 2 people to enter the contest per submission.
• 1 tag must be "comedyopenmic".
• Include "Comedy Open Mic Round 4" somewhere in the text/title.
• Self voting allowed up to $0.50 in value (To even out the playing field for little guys)
• Bot upvotes are not allowed. (If you use bots to upvote your own post, you will not be considered for a prize)
• Limit of 2 entries only per account. (Judges will choose their favourite entry for prize considerations)
• Original material Only. Entries that are not the original work of the poster as least in some form will be disregarded. If you are unsure if your entry is original, please ask us we will happily let you know.
• Resteem the rules and contest start.
• Entry via a new post only (no recycled posts).
• Please go through and upvote 3-5 other contestants to show encouragement (even 1% will be greatly appreciated)
• Entries should be in english, it will be difficult for me to laugh if the judges cannot understand them. (Thoroughly encourage translation of non-english entries)
• Patience will be required as the process is all manual.

Prizes

• Court Jester will get 35SBD
  • Court Jester will be chosen by the judges
• People's champion will get 1-10SBD (Payout depends on value, higher value post will get smaller prize. Remaining value to be handed out to other entrants).
  • People's champion is whoever has highest $ payout at competition close
• Top 10 prize pool is 20Steem
  • A contestant with a entry that gets onto our Top 10 list will receive 2Steem.
• Lucky Door Prize will be 5SBD
  • 5 lucky contestants will get a 1SBD each as a bonus prize.
• If you your entry is a Dtube stand-up of yourself and you take out either people's champion or Court Jester, a judge will upvote 1 of your posts 100% every day for 7 days.
• Entrants who resteem the Contest announcement or other people's entries will ensure a higher vote

Plagiarism

If you believe someone has submitted a plagiarised entry, please let the judges know. You can let us know on the discord channel or as a reply to one of our comments. As long as contestants make an effort to produce original content and provide sources for other material we will be happy to accept the entry.
