RE: Thought Bubble Thursdays #12 - Time's Up
What a fun read. I particularly like the "didn't change the future, just made a different reality, the first reality exists as they left it" part. Horrible paraphrasing I know! I love these sci-fi concepts, both time travel paradoxes and alternate dimensions. Have you ever read timeline by Crichton? Instead of going back in time they go into a different dimension that occurs at the same time, however is moving slightly behind so it resembles our Middle Ages (using MRI technology, don't question it!) anyway, cograaaats on your wedding! Very happy you get to
marry the supportive woman of your dreams! See you when you get back!
That paraphrased it quite perfectly actually haha! Timeline by Crichton? I can't say that I have. I know he's a great sci-fi writer, but I fear that I haven't read that one. Is it any good? Sci-Fi does have that caveat to suspend disbelief haha!
Thank you for the well wishes, brother! If only I knew you personally when we were doing our preps, we would have totally made you the wedding singer! If anything, it at least gets @dreemit to tag along with you haha! Also, I'm still here for a while, it's just this series that's taking a break before I do haha!
Wedding singer? Now that would've been fun! Where would I be flying in to? Hopefully warmer/sunnier than where I live. Rochester Ny- always in the top 5 snowiest cities in the US. Timeline is good. It's not amazing, I wouldn't recommend it first. Jurassic Park, The lost world, Congo- those ones are really good. And even as I say that, I mean, they are really good for Crichton. He wasn't not the best writer, but he had genius innovative sci-fi plots based on real ground breaking science with constant suspense. He even described the internet fairly accurately in Congo, and that book was published in 1980.
The Philippines :D Definitely warmer and sunnier haha! I've read JP, TLW and Congo before, so I could attest to that. I like The Andromeda Strain as well. I do get what you mean about Crichton though haha No matter his ability, he has a great track record when it comes to his work being adapted. That say something!
