RE: Who Knows What 90-90-90 means in relation to HIV/AIDS?

in #worldaidsday7 years ago

By 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status. By 2020, 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy. By 2020, 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.

That's a very big ambitious plan on UNAID side. Let's see how it goes.

That is it, @greenrun. You got it. Please, read my comment below on what the Minister of Health said regarding the issue.

@maryfavour, self-testing kit would help a lot of people know their HIV status. But of late the HIV sensitisation campaign seems to have taken a backseat amongst other mirage of problems bedevilling the country. Let's see how it goes.

Hmmm i wonder how feasible this plan is
Expecially in this country we live in where people get stigmatised for every little thing.

I thought so too! I will read more to know how they plan to carry that out especially in Nigeria and what has been done so far.

It is an ambitious plan that all of us can help out in achieving. Countries are meant to adopt the 90-90-90 HIV/AIDS management strategy. Nigeria is not left out. The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Issac Adewole, reports that Nigeria has adopted the strategy in the Punch article titled- FG targets 90% coverage for HIV carriers..

Punch news article was authored by Eniola Akinkuotu and published on the 21st of November, 2017.
