An advanced enough civilisation can actually significantly, and possibly indefinitely, delay the expansion and destruction of a star by removing heavy elements and adding hydrogen. So it's possible we could stay. Even after heat death with megastructures. (he has other good content on that) But by then it really wouldn't matter as we would undoubtedly colonize new worlds.

I don't know about the other two, but Elon Musk's Tesla endeavor is at least an attempt to mitigate our climate-changing impact with the electric car and solar-powered charging stations. So at least one of them is doing something to help. It's still a for-profit company, of course, but it at least has something of an altruistic agenda...
