Introduction

It was unusual of me that I have to sit down one day and begin to imagine the time I spend each day on daily activities, to see how much progress I was making. It was at this moment that I realized that I have not made any progress as regards the things I planned to achieve for couple of weeks now. My lack of progress thus made me unhappy and arose in me the urge to find a way forward and I began to ask my friends the best way to manage my time better and become productive.

It was at my point of making an inquiry on how to improve and manage my time wisely in order to achieve success, that a friend of mine introduced an app to me. After his introduction, I quickly went online and made a research about the app and from what I saw, I realized that the app would be quite useful.

At the end of this article, you should be able have an insightful understanding of what the activity diary app is, and how you can use it to better manage your time and activities. At this point, you should be able to start thinking on how this app will modify your mental reasoning on the aspect of time value and management.

The Activity Diary App

This Activity Diary App can also be called Job Activity Log or An Activity Log. This is an application that allows you the user to keep a diary of your important activities. With this app, you are better equipped to analyze how well or how badly you use your time. It helps you get better at using your time at work while also reducing or removing low value activities. This means that you can do more high value work anywhere you are. It focuses on how to make its user more productive.

The Activity Diary App also serves as a self-examination app as it helps you crosscheck how you spend your time each day and how well you were able to meet your set goals. This app enables you to avoid procrastination and triggers you to do whatever you have planned to do at a given time. With this app, you not only accomplish your task at a given time but you complete a task with high value. Proper time management is the priority of this app.

How to use the Activity Diary App

The Activity Diary open source app is available for users of devices running on the Android operating system. To use this app, you need to first download and install it on your phone. You can either download it from the Google Playstore app, or via F-droid. There are also a number of websites where you can download this app.

Once you have downloaded it, there is a tab where you can add your activities for the day just as you begin. You can also add some notes to the activities as well as the expected time for finishing the particular activity. With this app, you will get to know how much time you spend at doing things you set out to do on each day. It ultimately unveils the idea of being positive at work more especially as it has to do with your time scheduling.

It serves as an eye opener to you as it widens your experience on how to successfully catch up with time when carrying out you obligated duties. Your activity diary also helps you to understand the time you do your most important work whether during the full day or not. This is to help you determine your energy level and creativity in a particular time. Find out the best time you can do your most important work and do it at that time.

If you are more energetic in the morning hours, then you should be able to schedule and carry out your most important tasks in the morning. However, if you are more energetic in the noon, then it would be better if you can carry out your most important task at noon or even at night as the case may be.

Features of the Activity Diary App

• Add Activities

There are already a number of preset activities added on the Activity Diary app. These activities include but are not limited to Cinema, sleeping, Gardening, cleaning, cooking, etc. Once you click on any of them, they begin to count for you. From the activity tab, you can edit the currently ongoing activity, add notes, edit start time and stop time.

However, the preset activities are only few in numbers and do not include all day to day activities we do every day. With the “Add activities” button, you can add new activities to allow for easy choosing of these activities from the Home Tab.

• Edit Activities

From the edit activities tab, you can easily manage all the activities originally created on the app or the ones added by you. From this section, you can also add new activities that you regularly engage in. Here, you can also delete current activities if you no longer wish to have them on the app.

• View Map

The Activity Diary App also has a map service embedded within it. This map allows you view your current location and the surrounding environments. You can set the map to be updated frequently, and after a set number of minutes and meters. This is done by putting the location service on via the app, and setting the preferred minutes and meters.

Conclusion

The activity diary app is a good app for users who wish to track their daily activities and how much time they spend on each of these activities. For people who wish to take complete control over their time and the activities they do on a daily basis, this app is quite helpful.
