Igor Girkin gets jail for criticizing Putin for not being more ruthless.

Naturally Igor Girkin wasn't jailed for shooting down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, but for criticizing Putin. Girkin was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

Girkin led execution squads in the Donbas in 2014 that killed Ukrainian civilians. He's a perfect example of how the "little green men" in the Donbas and Crimea were not Ukrainian separatists, but Russian soldiers and intelligence officers. He was convicted in absentia for murder in the downing of MH17 over eastern Ukraine.

This latest conviction was for extremism due to his criticism of Putin. Girkin like many of the Russian war bloggers didn't criticize Putin for waging the war, but for not being more ruthless and cruel to Ukrainians.

Darya Trepova was also convicted for the April explosion at the cafe in which war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky was killed. She was sentenced to 27 years in prison. The longest sentence for a woman in modern Russia. She contends she wasn't aware the trophy she gave to Tatarsky had explosives in it.
