Going across Øresund 1 - One day trip to Falsterbo

I live smack center of the wonderful and only slightly noisy and dirty capital of Denmark that is Copenhagen. It's a city as cities are most but since it's my city, I 'm quite thrilled to share the more shiny sides of it with you steemit people (also because I'm a lazy bastard and it's relatively easy to write something since I just have to go outside my door usually).
Sometimes though it can convenient to get out of the big city, get some fresh air and see something new that isn't made of glass, steel and concrete, you know, nature and shit. Not that the little mermaid isn't a lovely fable mammal but she's honestly not all that she's made out to be and it's get a little boring from time to time.. which btw reminds be that I should probably do a post about her one day for those of you who right now sits at home thinking "what the fuck dude, why are you talking about mermaids.. are you high?"

Anyways, it so happens to be that we Danish people are blessed/cursed having Sweden right next door from Copenhagen across the body of water called "Øresund". Blessed because they have awesome nature, tasty kötbullar and IKEA.. Cursed because, well, they are Swedish and while we used to own their sorry asses they still talk really weird.
All joking aside, I kinda like Sweden and today I just wanted to share with you my little visit to one of most southern points of Sweden, more precisely the tiny peninsula of Falsterbo.

Falsterbo is a peninsula in at the very south eastern part of Sweden in the part of the country that is called Skåne, just about 20 km south of Malmö and 40 km from Copenhagen, give and take a few kilometers. It's easily accessed by European road E6 and then main road 100 when you come from up North and offers quite a scenic route through the south Swedish farmland and as you close in on the destination; the local protected wildlife areas that makes up most of Falsterbo.

It took about 45 minutes to drive from my home to the Falsterbo harbor, just make sure you remember your passport when entering Sweden, they are a bit anal with that still.

The protected wildlife sanctuaries here are mostly known for their huge amount of birds that migrates here from the warm south every Spring. If you are an ornithologist there's a good chance to make one of your wet dreams come through here and if you are just a plain and simple appreciator of nature, you are bound to enjoy walking around here through the woodland, the plains and the beach-land.

We arrived just over noon and started out scouting out a place to eat. To our great dismay we couldn't locate a single place to get some kötbullar or other Swedish specialties, but instead we found a wealth of fish and shellfish restaurants, including an old-school smokehouse that is traditional for the coastal south. It's was bad shit crazy expensive though so we ended up in another place although still with a incredible tasty smoked salmon that really made the taste buds cry out in rejoice.

So simple but yet so very tasty.. smoked salmon served cold with new potatoes, pickled red onion salad and a mouthwatering dill sauce

The beach here in Falsterbo is spectacular with the finest white sand and almost totally exotic turquoise water. Unfortunately the water color was impossible to capture on my crappy Samsung so you'll have to go and see that for yourself, I can however, share the sweet tiny beach huts with you that is everywhere along the beach. These miniature houses contains beach wear, provides a place to change clothes and some of them even have small amenities for the owner to enjoy. They are usually painted in very bright colors and looks a bit charming if you are into tiny decorative sheds.
Needless to say these buildings often costs a small fortune and while I'd never spend money on something like that I'm happy someone does cause they do make for interesting motives and I bet that a skilled photographer could make much more out of them that I ever can with a cellphone camera.

I don't have much for to share with you for now, but I'll revisit the "wild" part of Falsterbo in another post for those of you interested in nature and stuff. It's a lovely little place to visit for a picnic, a hike, a swim or maybe just a tasty treat. The area has a lot of camping sites to offer and I bet that in high season it's swarming with tourists coming here to enjoy the beach and friendly locals.
