Pond and Small Channel in the Villa of the Baek Wun Dong Garden
There was a water way from out side through the wall.
The pond was not a large one, but it seemed to have important meaning in composition for the garden and the villa.
In Korean traditional thoughts, the combination and the harmony was one of the most important element.
So to complete this villa, the mountains and the waters must be balanced.
The pond was made in the quadrilateral shape with stone frames.
Water was so clean.
Looking the pond, I sat near the house.
It was so peaceful.
I’d like to stay, if I could.
This villa must be a imitated paradise of Taoism, in my guess.
Refreshing and cool place to spend time here. Beautiful photographs.

@slowwalker, You take a captures from different angles. Pond made architecture way awesome. Water supply from outside to the pond. Both ways I looked since where water comes. Garden area impressive and another villa seemed very close to the pond.
Harmony and unity are indeed one of the cultural backbones (or value) of Korea.
The lines of rock, framing the pond and the terracing, the gentle slope of the land and the clear water add to the tranquility of the gardens.

Wow amazing description of the pond from you, I could almost picture the pond from your description, it's seems like a very old form of pool for royalty, the Baek Wun Dong Garden is simply amazing, thanks for the amazing shots really.
I believe that balancing between nature elements will make us wisely. At least we know if around you there is water it make cooler. It can absorbed hot and become habitat for some plants and animals.
