❓Have you visited Pearl Harbor as a non-american? How did you feel? Tell us in comments.
✔️We are nearing the end of our Hawaiian adventures and on our last few days in Oahu, we spent a full day at Pearl Harbor.
✔️While obviously during World War II many countries were involved, in France we learn more about the Europe battles.
✔️Spending a day at Pearl Harbor gave us a much better understanding of the World War II in the Pacific. We obviously knew about the bombing in both countries USA and Japan.
✔️The visit culminates with the access by boat to the USS Arizona memorial. Everything is done to deeply plunge the visitor in the past and understand what happened and how people felt on that day when the Japanese attacked the US fleet by surprise.
✔️We both felt quite emotional as we walked around the memorial, with thousands of names on the wall, you can only deeply pay respect to those who lost their lives to serve their country and the alliance.
✔️Pearl Harbor is truly an experience we recommend for people of all ages, all nationality as it is such an important part of everyone's history.

✔️Pour finir notre séjour nous avons passé une journée complète à explorer Pearl Harbor sur Oahu.
✔️Malgré le fait que nous connaissons tous l'histoire de Pearl Harbor et l'attaque des Japonais, on se rend compte qu'on ne connait pas vraiment bien les conflits de la second guerre mondiale dans le pacifique.
✔️Pearl Harbor est incroyablement bien fait pour vous plonger dans l'histoire et comprendre la guerre du Pacifique.
✔️L'un des points fort de la visite c'est le mémorial du USS Arizona coulé lors des attaques japonaises. Les milliers de noms sur le mur mettent en perspective l'impact de l'attaque. La gorge se sert lorsque l'on marche dans ce memorial. On ne peut s'empêcher d'avoir un immense respect pour ses hommes qui ont perdus la vie au service du monde.

Did you hear this memorial is closed indefinitely? A couple of weeks ago one of the ship captains who takes tourists out to the memorial noticed a crack in the structure. Upon further investigation it was deemed too severe to allow visitors. I am sure it will reopen eventually but the timeline is unclear at the moment.
It is a beautiful and peaceful spot to remember all the people who lost their lives that day. Really well presented as both a memorial/grave sight and as museum/education center.
@dfinney yes we have heard of the news, and read further about it as I was typing this article. It seems it is not as bad as they thought but the repair is complex because of it's structure and water location.
It is a very special monument and I believe they did very well to commemorate all these souls.
