Torso of Old Town Hall, Prague, Old Town
P1090474.JPG
The Old Town Hall was built in 1338 as the first town hall in the Czech Kingdom. Prague received the privilege of self-government as the first city.
The Town Hall was a complex complex of many buildings. Until the 19th century, it underwent unifying Neo-Gothic reconstruction.
Everyone sees that one wing is demolished. This happened at the end of the Nazi occupation, when in May 1945. Part of the town hall in heavy fighting during the rebellion against the occupiers burned.
Since then, there has been a debate to rebuild the town hall or not. Whether to build a copy of the original building or something completely new ...
The debate lasted for 73 years. It does not seem to be over soon.
