Our Thoughts Have An Effect On Our Future
If you would agree that thought comes before action, and action can cause an effect - which influences results... then you must also agree that your past thoughts have directly influenced the options now available to you - or the consequences being extracted from you. That is, everything you are experiencing today are the results brought about by the thoughts you had entertained, and actions have taken - in your past.
For those in crisis, despair and isolation - the only answer to your troubles, the only solution to your pain, the only path to a brighter future - is to realize that your thoughts now, are creating your future of tomorrow... and to take what ever steps you can to find and hold better feeling thoughts.
How To Find Good Thoughts During Crisis
Seek a guide. Find an outside source that will engage your thinking and direct it. This can be a book, it can be a podcast, it can be inspirational videos on YouTube, it can be a patient friend or it can be a professional Councillor.
Just as we learn new skills in sports by watching others and practicing copying their moves - we can learn new skills in thinking, we can pay attention to better feeling thoughts by listening to the advice and guidance of others.
Exercise Your Body To Calm Your Mind
Going for a brisk walk, taking a yoga class, riding a bicycle - almost any physical exercise will help battle negative emotions and negative thinking. First it can distract your mind from dwelling on the present crisis - second, it liberates endorphins... the natural anti-depressants that are created within our brains.
Combine some brief exercise with one or more of the sources of good thoughts mentioned above - and you are well on your way to finding the path forward from today, and to creating a better tomorrow... for your thoughts effect the actions you will take, and the actions you take produce the results you get.
No matter how factual your crisis is, no matter how real the trauma is, no matter how justified it may seem to dwell on the trouble... the bigger truth is - if you repeat these negative thoughts, it will lead to inappropriate actions, and thus bring undesired results... and even more crisis to suffer from.
The only answer to your trouble, the only solution to your pain, the only path to a brighter future - is to realize that your thoughts now, are creating your future of tomorrow... and to take what ever steps you can to find and hold better feeling thoughts.
