Cape Town Steemup! 25 February 2018 - Blue Peter
On a glorious Sunday afternoon I got together with @therneau to have a meetup. We also met up with Hannes and Louis from @dansfrikkiedans who were at Blue Peter to entertain the crowd.
There is not much else to say but that we had beer, we had pizza and the kids enjoyed themselves immensely! Actually Therneau and myself chatted up a storm about ourselves, our interests, Steemit, Discord, what to do at future meetups and our plans for growth. A lot of it was dedicated to our mutual passion for writing stories which was great.
Here in the center we have Soren pulling a funny face because of the lemon he is chewing, flanked by my two: Aime and Meren. On the outsides of this picture are another two kids who I have no idea about. There were a lot of kids and the whole place sees the bunch of them running around and playing. There are adults sitting on the grass as well, facing out over the ocean.
Hannes looks great in that hat right? It's the beard. I admit they make anything look great. As always DFD put up a great performance despite being a man down. (I actually did not get round to asking where Ian was.) The crowd applauded them aplenty.
Three hours later and it was time to finish up and head off home. What a pleasure!

We should do a Northern Cape steemup, but I think it would be a small gathering (being either far apart and/or too few). Regionals, Provincials and then a National!

If there is one thing that South Africans love doing, that is to get together with a beer and braai (meat done over the coals). Going to use this tradition to bring together a lot of people and build a great community.
Drinking beer and grilling meat is German as fuck!
