The Best Way to Train Your Core Muscles:

In this video, I debunk the myth that sit-ups and crunches are the best core exercises.

This video took a long time to create and edit. It is impossible for me to maintain a daily Health Vlog, of this caliber. I would like to know, from the community, if you prefer that I post 2-3 times per week, and maintain this quality, or, post every day, but, sacrifice some of the fancy editings etc.

P.S. Either way, the 'standard' of the information will always remain high, regardless. I'm speaking only of production quality.

Please let me know below.

I love your presentations, funny and to the point!

Now you got me intrigued to quit ab exercises for some time and work isometrically for a change (if only I could be more disciplined on my diet, I need to get rid of a few kilos I put on those last months).

Your question is hard to answer, though. How about keep posting on a daily basis and make longer videos whenever you feel like it?

(Also, wouldn't it be a nice idea to make videos on exercises and the right technique? Have a model perform them the wrong way with you explaining possible injuries and damage and then show us the right way? Or some exercises aiming at specific conditions?)

Yes, try exercise the abs isometrically.

We all have our struggles. I hope that you improve and reach your goals. Besides, we should never become complacent, otherwise, we will have no desire to improve.

I am trying to. I spent hours editing today, but, I'm still not done. I started off with the idea of not editing at all, but, focusing on the info.... That lasted a whole 2 videos :) I guess I will try put out as often as I can.

Yes, your ideas are congruent with mine. I plan to do a lot of exercise videos, where I will educate the proper techniques etc.

Thanks for all your help and support as always :)

I am with you! Doing a million sit ups will not magically show that six pack. That comes from clean eating and strengthening! You need both and without the diet part the six pack just won't show itself..

Awesome post! :)

But situps do strengthen the core muscles but at the cost of your back like he said!

You are correct. Just to add to that though. Doing sit ups will strengthen the abs ability to contract ‘concentrically’.

Research, however, has shown that strengthening the core ‘isometrically’ (the way I have demonstrated) enhances athleticism as well as preserves the spine.

You are right. A layer of fat covering, even the most developed abs, will not do them justice.

My point was more in the direction of the ‘function’ of the core. I’m more interested in human performance.

Thanks for your support :)

I never knew that doing things like jumping and balancing could be strengthening for the core. This explains why, having switched from doing a regular 10-min core strengthening routine, including situps, to doing a "Climber Yoga" general routine designed for doing overhung walls, my core actually seems to have got stronger. The Climber Yoga routine seems more gentle, yet I get better results.
It also explains why, when I walk up hills, I can actually feel my core working.
Great video. I also make videos – on YouTube, as I can't get Dtube to work on my ageing computer. I do appreciate well-edited videos that take time to do, and I've made a few myself, so I know how time-consuming it is to make them!
A couple of the ones I did for YouTube had disappointing viewing figures initially, but after time the figures improved dramatically. If you were to do basic vlogs more frequently, with the more edited versions occasionally, and post them to YouTube as well as Dtube, the more edited ones might perform well over time on YouTube and give you a lower but more long-term income.

Yes, as long as we are standing on our two feet (or hands), the core will be working. The muscles are designed to be incredibly enduring so that they can constantly serve us.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, creating a video with higher production value, requires a lot of time.

Thanks for your advice:) I currently have a YouTube channeconstant will definitely post some of these, more ’professional’, videos there.

Thanks again for your support!

Fantastic man! love the intro :) you can see the effort you put it :) keep pushing :) you should join @dtubefitness :)

Thanks my brother. I appreciate your support. I will definitely check them out.

Yea, me and @gabbyg86 created the page, we want to build a whale to help out all the fitness and health dtubers :)

Well since you talk about 6 packs and core and stuff these days I think you should also do a video on stomach vacuums :D

Not a bad idea 🤔

There is nothing wrong with being a human vacuum cleaner. You just have to make sure that you never have power:)

Dunno if you are teasing me or if you just have no idea what I am talking about :P

Absolutely clueless lol 🙈

Please elaborate.

Ha! Time to teach the master then! Here's the first link I got from Google https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ms-fit5.htm

Just Google stomach vacuum and you will get all the info you need :)

Supposedly it's something old builders like Arnold used to do a lot. Maybe try it yourself for a month and make a before/after post? 😁

I read the article. Seems like I learn something new everyday :) thanks for sharing.

In weightlifting, we use our breath to brace and stabilise the core. Elite athletes talk about turning their spines into stiff iron rods. Without using the breath and diaphragmatic muscle, this is not possible

Stiff iron rod? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

HA HA HA HA. While I was writing that sentence, I had a feeling you would comment on it. lol
