There is an outstanding vintage silver ingot listed on Ebay! It is listed in auction style. The best offer is going to take this one down!

I personally enjoy tracking unique silver ingot auctions. You just never know how they are going turn out. Typically, bidding usually takes place daily. Often times casual bidding during then first several days. Followed by a window of no bidding. All of the juicy action takes place in the last hour of the listing! I have seen items jump up thousands in the last 4 seconds.

United States Smelting and Refining Inc. 10oz 999 fine silver ingot. A prime example due the full and strong hallmark strike. Which is not common for these rarities. The size and shape make it seem like a very neat piece to hole in hand.

Get your popcorn ready for this auction!! Potential to hit four figures in my opinion.โœŒ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ‘€

That is a nice piece. I agree with @dfinney; why bid early and drive it up? I think that either the early birds are friends of the person selling the item, or more likely, just new to the whole thing and don't realize the end result. This could be a nail biting finish for sure!๐Ÿ˜œ

Very possible. I do know some people who bid early in an effort to make the seller stick out the auction and not sell it to someone attempting to buy privatly. All part of the plan for some people..

Sniping on those hot silver rarities can be a jaw dropping experience. I watch a few rare-ish coins thinking where the collectors? I put my bid in at 10 to 12 seconds before the close and then "Pew, pew, pew!" Get totally sniped.

That's a very accurate description !

Do you happen to know anything about NWC bars?

I May! Have a photo of the hallmark ?

I don't have a picture. There was one that I saw at the coin store. It was almost 10 ounces and they wanted $250 for it. I was trying to figure out if it was a good deal. I can't find anything regarding pricing online.

Was there any type of design hallmark on the bar? Or just NWC 3 letters with weight and purity? Was there a serial number on it ?

No design, just the letters with weight and purity. It's definitely a poured bar. No serial number that I remember.

People who bid early are crazy. It just drives up the price faster. It is always better to swoop in right at the end!

This is a sweet little bar.

I couldn't agree more! Early bidding has slim to no purpose. Love this piece.

These are classic Silver bars, the ones at my LCS are either newer rounds, or high priced rounds..
I love the variety that passes through Ebay!!!!
To the LCS I go.....Christmas is coming, i'll let everyone know if I find some "special" shiny!!!๐Ÿ˜€
Have a good day!!!

Please do!! Thank you very muchโœŒ

Wow that's quite a premium

Certainly! Some of the pre 1900 silver ingots are 5 figures. It's a pretty strong market.
