STEEM- Monetize your time with your words
Due to the massive response we have had to the STEEMJET logo competition, we are expanding the scope of the competition to include more prizes.
There will be one first place prize for a black and white logo - We want a polished black and white logo that we will pay $1k upvotes for it. It can be in color as well, but the major consideration is going to be how well it translates into a black and white image.
There will be 5 second place prizes of $500 upvotes to each prize winner. The logo can be color or black and white and can highlight any aspect of the steemjet experience. I will post some examples of some of the entries that have been submitted with comments about what makes them effective communicative tools.
There will be 10 third place prizes of $100 in upvotes for each prize winner. Again, there are no rules or concept limitations.
This is a total of $4500 in prizes for the best artwork, and the competition will last indefinitely.
@deandaniels is not eligible for the competition because he is working for steemjet already which is why he getting so many upvotes. If you win a prize, then you will be compensated in the same manner as @deandaniels is getting paid. What did @deandaniels do to deserve such glorious compensation? He invented the name STEEMJET, and designed a logo which he gave to the community.
I will announce winners and begin pumping them with upvotes as they claim their prize and relinquish intellectual property ownership to the steemjet community. I will do my best to evaluate all entries but please bear with me because I need to finish writing the 4 part curriculum before we can launch! But it seems that this logo competition has been such a huge success, that I don't mind the launch delay.
Since we are taking a step back in our logo acquisition strategy, it is best to not post specific ideas here, but rather to let your creativity take you wherever you think steemjet needs to go.

i just made this ...a few minutes ago...tho am still compiling my entry for the contest
I love how the tail curves to meet the curved steem logo. Modify the font and you are really on to something. Seriously though. This is near perfection except for the lettering and the disconnected grey elements on top of the plane. I can't tell you how to make it better, but between the steem logo, and the black part of the plane with grey stripe down the underbelly, you have a near complete design and a prizeworthy contender. But I see your dilema, if you take away the grey elemets of the plane, then it looks like a bird (because you gave up the hard lines on the plane to merge it with the steem logo). This seems like an issue that if you could make the jet look more jetlike without those grey shapes above it, then, well, you get the picture. The grey plane stripe and the grey center steem line are subtle and extremely effective elements to this black and white image. Normally I don't like to mix grey, in the black and white image, but this grey is purposeful with style!

My thoughts exactly. I also had a problem with the font but talking about the grey element at the top, I think that gave it the jet like feel of the plane , removingbitnwould someworth make it look like an ordinary Bird. I wonder how else he would get to redesign it to make the logo contest worth but since he said he would cook up something after church then let's wait and see what he has to offer.

Absolutely loving the white on black! Traditinoal black and white images translate like Banksy's stencils. This is definitely a prizeworthy entry. Fun font and simple effective jet engine lines allow you to do them thick therefor it is more difficult to conceptualize such a design. This is the textbook example of the elements that make a black and white graphic effective. You need upvotes, and I am the man to give them to you. A great design like this, I have no critique for, but you as the creator might. All I can say is that this is definitely going to net a prize! I'm going to obtain more steem right now. The creative people here like you truly deserve it.
