Steem School Episode 64 - Witnessing & What I learned From SirCork & Drakos
@SirCork & @Drakos are top-ranking witnesses that have talked the most and the longest on a great Steemit podcast that I have been part of today.

The topic of the episode was "Let's talk Witnesses" where many witnesses were a part of.
The following witnesses that were there when I was there were: @SirCork, @Drakos, @JackMiller, @Jrswab, @Ura-Soul and many other witnesses that also entered the discussion when I left it.
There were also tons of not-witnesses in the voice chat and in the text-chat. @shadowspub did an excellent job at leading the discussion and she always had good questions for us to answer.
After a while, in there @SirCork entered the discussion and the question was (I think @Snooky asked that question) "Why don't they erase the dead witnesses (inactive witnesses)" and SirCork started to speak like the world was about to explode.
People were silent for a long time when he spoke (he mentions @Drakos as his mentor by the way) and it was clear to me that he was absolutely convinced of what he says.
So basically he uploaded a spreadsheet that shows that many top ranking witnesses vote for the "dead witnesses" to make it harder to enter the top 50 & 20.
The top 20 witnesses also have their own voice chat server which is invite only.
And more: Whales sell their votes to witnesses which makes sense because they have an incredible amount of Steem Power which helps Witnesses to climb the ranks.
Listening to @SirCork & @Drakos was depressing and shocking but it was the truth. So I appreciated it and talked with some people including @Snook & @Hopehuggs about that later.
"To secure your power you need to dominate your field and that means eliminating the opposition".
Drakos and SirCork also do more than most other witnesses who are now inactive (even in the top 20) and are still stuck in their ranks because the top 20 make it harder and harder to enter.
All this enlightened me and I learned a lot from their wisdom & knowledge.
You need to understand your surrounding and workplace from the dirtiest corner to the brigtest spot inside out if you want to operate efficiently in it and avoid slipping over bananas.
Just check these charts out, doesn't look that decentralized anymore right?
It may be decentralized but early adopters have established their power who are now secretly deciding whats up like in secret Illuminati meetings.
@SirCork sounded like Malcolm X when he spoke, and I believe every word he said, also because he showed proof.
This is what you can learn from my experience today: Understand Steemit & Steem completely, find out who is truly in power on Steemit and you will be able to understand this whole thing much better helping you to make better moves on this platform.
For example who you should not piss off, who you want to be allied with, etc. The witness game is politics.

Today has been full of knowledge and valuable information. Information which will help us shape our plans with steemit going into the future. As I've said before, right now steemit is ran by 36 individuals. You could argue this is fair, those people have invested loads into steemit and made a successful investment but should the power be for sale like it is right now. Power ris everything here, we know that. But being able to purchase a share of the power regardless of one's intentions is quite worrisome.

as long as the whale votes for the witnesses who are at the top, it is very difficult for you to enter the top 20 .. since you have to invest a large sum of money .. in a whale ... and to invest a large amount in a whale, it is more preferable spend that money on steempower and get going among the great leaders ..
That is an option, but I will try entering the top 20 first without kissing ass.

I thought about it, but the problem is that they can just remove their votes and they hold a lot of control over you if you pay them so I abstain from that.
It is dishonest as well, I rather get votes from people that truly support me.

From the two graphs you can see that SteemIt behaves exactly like the real world. Few super-rich hold the most power. On SteemIt they determine what is good and what is bad. And it's hard to defend yourself against the votes of whales....
