I agree. Parents contribute the most in building their own children's character. Neglect and any form of abuse can take a huge tolls towards children development. It is important for the parents to know and understand the struggle that their children is currently facing so they can provide insight. This insight will eventually becomes a template for the children to solve any foreseeable problems in the future so early education (informal) by the parents is the most vital step in producing a high quality adults.
