RE: Wouldn't It be Great if Posts didn't Have a 7 day Voting Expiry Timeline?
I was talking about this recently with a friend I brought to the platform. I think ultimately having a monthly payout would be better but I think it might lead to abuse.
hey, I was at first put off about the arrangement, because I was viewing this as a youtube-sort of money maker, where I could put something out there, and just let it keep propagating and making money, but I had to adjust how I viewed steemit, and how I was thinking about using it, and now I'm alright with the expiration, because it makes business sense from a technical point of view.
now that I've learned about LBRY, DTube, DStream, and steepshot, I'm excited to use steemit as one of several central hubs to share information and content via the many blockchains available.
Perhaps there could be both - an initial 7 day payout and then an ongoing 30 day payout for posts. Best of both worlds :)
abuse point is difficult - it's like there will be bad actors until there isn't. I think a lot of that over time will be less and less - I think part of the issue with abuse is a result of our individual attitudes and relationships with ourselves and each other. I mean if we just look at how money has been created historically...it's been through war/violence....the war machine. So - we've got a serious paradigm shift here as a real tangible social experiment that is happening - I think it's possible for the nature of the human to improve for the better....and I think moving forward, perhaps with the creation of SMT's and also EOS - we will be able to create added support systems/structures to prevent and limit abuse.
