RE: Quality vs. quantity as a creative publisher on Steemit!

in #steemit7 years ago

It’s pretty discouraging seeing all the bots and other exploitations going on in steem, being an investor myself I can already say I’ve lost plenty $. But I try to remind myself that every new revolutionary financial technology has had it’s exploiters. When the stock market was new people found ways to essentially steal hundreds of thousands of dollars because it was new and we the creators didn’t have the foresight to see all the potential exploits. Even now people are able to hide their financial growth in bitcoin. Here at steem we deal with botters.. But over time the stock market survived and is now thriving. As the methods of exploitation diminish (thanks to the staff) hopefully we will begin to see changes for the better.

If I learned anything from patreon it’s that quantity certainly is important if not more important than quality. This is just my own personal diagnostic that people who routinely create tend to have more followers/watchers/patrons than people who sparingly post but keep their content ‘full of quality’. I believe there is a psychology behind the idea that someone is constantly working, when people see there are 15 drawings spread out across the month they value it more than 1 very great illustration per month.
