RE: Whales On Steemit Should Act Like Talent Agents

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Yeah its a bit annoying. I look at a bunch of whales on steemstats.com to see who they vote for. It's often uninteresting posts. And a lot of them are who they "follow". Overall, there is a lack of concern for quality in the users. Most post 80% garbage filler on the "new" section. I made a post to try to get people to focus on upping their game and help Steemit succeed, and 1 whale liked it, but I suspect many are just trying to keep their curation rewards coming in so they can keep making $$$, and vote on higher quality material here and there. The bots don't judge quality...lol. So yeah...

I have invested $300 so far from bitcoin exchanges and have been promoting Powering Up... but not so sure anymore.

They voting weight system doesn't seem equitable... too much power to upvote posts for only a certain few whales and dolphins to create payouts.

Something isn't right in how it works. But I've been focusing on creating quality, it gets some recognition. People need to up their game and make greater quality, and stop posting 4x pointless posts a day, and also curate/upvote the higher quality material that actually makes a difference in our lives.

Thanks for the post. Upvoted, followed. Take care. Peace.

I couldn't agree more, I don't really have anything to add either. Thanks for the follow I checked out your blog and it looks like you create some solid quality so I gave you a follow as well. I do feel like the whales are trying to promote and grow steemit successfully and they're not just looking for a get rich quick scheme, so as it sits i'm still all in hoping for the best. We shall see though, but just like you I maybe should have kept my steem in liquid form instead of locking it in. O well tis what it is.
