Man can my idea seem banal! But I lack the function of personal messages! For example, I need to write a message to you personally, but I can not do it. In order to write a message to the user, I need to look for it in other places - discord or facebook. I think that personal messages are necessary for steemit. Yes you are right a private chat is definitely needed. For now if you really want to send a private message without leaving Steemit. Simply put send a transfer to the user you want to message and put a # symbol as the first character in the memo field and only you and the reciever will be able to see the message.
