Hunter's comment

Veebot is offering a step ahead in needle insertions. With this robotic system, no doctor is needed to draw blood from you for tests. It does this in a quick, precise and a less painful way than a regular surgeon would.
The robot uses robotic image guidance in order to get a precise insertion point and to avoid guess work.

This is awesome to see and great news for those who suffer from trypanophobia (fear from needles) no more shaky hands and things going wrong unless u upset the bot ! Great Hunt

Is it a robot that takes blood? Is this robot doing a blood transfusion for a blood test in a hospital? That's amazing. I'm wondering if you'll give me a good shot in an opium.

Yes, never miss another vein while shooting up! Perfect dose of opium every time :)

Veebot is a wonderful innovation in the field of surgical technology. As in every field technology involved so that the life become easier. now if the specialist doctor or surgeon is not available in emergency and in other cases then this robotic system can do the whole process of needle insertion for drawing blood. It works precisely and not on guess so i think its usage is also better in laboratory.@sciencegeek, really awesome hunting.

Having a robot that will help in place of doctor and nurses to help draw blood will be super amazing.

This will save people from some quack nurses out there that find it so hard to locate the right channel to draw blood from.

Veebot is indeed a must get robot as it save you the stress and also give you the needed attention at the right time.

Wow. Needle insertion is became more easier through robotic technologies.

This type of device could allow hospitals or laboratories to save time and refocus staff on more complex medical tests or procedures.

I am trying to see exactly how this is done. In my experience drawing blood from my patients, there are a lot of things involved- not just the actual location of the vein but also the patient's condition. If this device promises to "help" extract blood, how exactly- will the initial set up be done by a human or by the robot?

How about infection control- is there a process in doing this? like in hemodialysis machines which is done by the machines themselves? is the infection control done by a human?

While everyone dreads needle pricks (ME ESPECIALLY) the level of discomfort and pain depends on the patient's condition (is his pain threshhold low, is he suffering from any condition that makes him more irritable, is the location of the puncture site near bony prominences- because its painful, is he properly hydrated......etc)

I am trying to appreciate this but I failed to see any further detail beyond drawing blood by a robot............I checked in the website provided.

If anyone has info, let me know.

Oh man! I don't think i like that machine. I get this mental image of getting threaded like a sewing machine :(

This is good but i am not brave enough
