The two other "competitors" (term used loosely because I'm a something for everyone kinda person) I'm only very tenuously hanging around on now are facing similar issues at the moment (along with similar issues steem faced at a similar age). And I'm pretty sure a lot of the people on those other sites that I recognise from here ran from here to there hoping to avoid the problems from here and probably don't realise that due to the nature of these things these problems are going to keep cropping up at every new project along these lines and how well those projects will fare will depend on how well they weather/deal with the problems.
I'm currently just hanging around the other two to see if they survive and if so, if they also come good, as I'm not sure if one is still being developed and am not sure I like some of the decisions being made by the other, plus apparently I only like some things centralised and social networks doesn't seem to be one of them
So as far as that goes I think steem will be all right.
