The crypto market has been suffering a dip for a while now. In the midst of that dip something spectacular happened yesterday that has generated a stronger belief in this blockchain.

Actually! No need to paint words. Our beloved steem blockchain was in a security downtime for almost 12hrs. Someone wanted to scoop all the money on the blockchain by powering up what they don't have.

Luckily for us all, there is an inbuilt mechanism to ensure that such an incident never occurs. On the part of shutting down the entire blockchain, that has been fixed into a better algorithm that identifies similar attacks in the future and skips it instead of a total downtime.

We are happy with the efforts made by steemit Inc and the entire steem community to avert the tension . I wasn't really bothered because I knew that come what may, steem always pulls through.

For those that don't know, today is actually steemdependence day! The first payout on steem happened for the earliest bloggers today 2years ago! So mark the date July 4th on your calendar.

We will be here till next year to celebrate this grand blockchain. Hopefully by then SMTS AND HIVEMIND are already here.
