What one steem dollar represents in Uganda

in #steem-promo7 years ago

To day as I was going through the street of kampala, I did start to think the use of steeming and the life changer opportunity for African and Ugandan in general. If we try to look far, a single steem dollar per day can change people’s life forever.

Let’s give an example.

Here is a woman who works all day long and make her average daily income of 25 000 Ugandan shillings. This represents 1 steem dollar after reduction of all taxes. A steem dollar would be beyond 30,000 Uganda shillings but the process of withdrawing takes long and has many charges. It goes from steem dollars to bicoin, then to mobile money via bipesa. Each of the process occur charges, when it come to bipesa, their charges keep fluctuating and can reach beyond expectation.

As you move through the Kampala road, you will find people struggling and working hard day by day. They can reach up to 16 hours per day with a just benefit of approximately 25000 Ugandan shillings. If we bring an example of motorcycle riders, they do say that they earn 25,0000 to 30,000 ugx per day corresponding to approximately 1 steem dollar.

As we can see one steem dollar for Africans represents big for them. I do always see my financial progress when I mix working with steeming. If each African can strive to have one steem dollar, then I believe that the poverty level will be reduced.

I do actually tell my friends to join steemit, but some of them are big headed and rude sometimes. They don’t believe in the power of sharing their ideas and earning something. They just think that steemit is irrealistic and when I tell them to join steemit, they then become shy.

In Uganda, only few people can earn beyond 1 steem dollar per day. Sincerely speaking 1 steem dollar represents a net of 25000 Uganda Shillings which is almost 7 USD per day. Hummm…..i wish I knew this before. I do try to make my analysis as I believe I will be able to help my community one day.
Having an opportunity is one thing, and taking the opportunity is an other. People do suffer all over the world I believe and its on their responsibility to feel liberated from that. It’s a time of looking an other area of gaining and to ry to resolve and improve some financial problems.

Here are some few businesses in Kampala that only make one steem dollar per day. If you can be able to steem, then do it cause other do struggle a lot to reach there. I do believe that steemit can change people’s life in Uganda and I’m a living testimony. If I can now have more in my finances, then why shouldn’t I join ? Steemit is for free, though it takes some little time and perseverance I believe we can be able to gain something from it.

Thank you for sharing. A lot of us don't appreciate what we have and how well off we are. Hopefully your country gets better.

I believe that atleast through what my fellow ugandan stemetians are doing in promoting steemit especially is really hlping forexample new peple like me.

yeah...we do try our level best to progress. At least i do make sure that my friends know more about steemit so as to start earning

You might be able to get some businesses and stuff going through this as well. Poverty sucks but it can lead to opportunities.

brilliant article @jona12.
It made me realized how important 1 steem dollar is in your country.
I can relate too, because living in the Philippines is hard to and looking for a job is not a piece of cake.
Thank you so much.

yeah...life is not easy everywhere. i wish everyone knew the art of steeming

Poverty sucks but can lead to oportunitis.....i had never heard of that.
I thank God for this opportunity being on steemit @mysearchisover

Sometimes businesses will go to poor places because people will work for less.

Persevere in your way to empower more.
It is not their fault they do not see the benefit of it.
In the rich country it is the other way.

They do not see the reason to share and write for 1 or 2 steems.
I think this is life that always a few understand and will reap the reward.
keep on steemin'

Yeah...i believe . I personaly found this opportunity as a life changer and tried to make it my daily living

True. Given the reality of the system these days, we can only make use of solutions available for the betterment of our lives. It's great to hear that you are serving as a good example for Ugandan people. I hope that in time, people will see through your life and give Steemit a chance. Change does not happen overnight, it takes time.

PS. Those streetfoods look yummy!

ahahah.....i do actually enjoy them. You should come to Uganda and try them. We do call them chapatis and mandazis

This is a great analysis bro and i know all this info is correct coz i have friends who do this businesses.I have to share this post wide and wide especially on Facebook.

yeah...thanks my mentor. Time has come to take steemit to an other level in Uganda

Amazing. Thank you for introducing me on steemit. Today making four days now..

Amazing article @jona12 ! It is extremely sad and disgusting how unequal and unfair this world is! Definitely cryptos and platforms such as steemit can provide a great solution for people living into this kind of extreme poverty... I imagine a better future for all these countries thanks to the blockchain... I'll do my part trying to promote it as much as possible... By the way, what is bipesa? Greetings from Spain!!! ;)

Bitpesa is an exchange that we use in east africa to transfert bitcoin to mobile money. So we first exchange our steem to bitcoin and then from bitcoin to mobile money account through bitpesa. So, bitpesa is a bridge between mobile money account and bitcoin wallet.

Please feel free to ask me if you still have more questions

Ammmm...very interesting...what do you mean by "mobile money"? Fiat? Can bitpesa be used in other countries too? I'd love to create any kind of project to help poor communities through steemit... If you have anything in mind, please count with me! Would love to see how this technology can have an impact on people's life...

I love your passion for uganda like me. Poverty i believe will be no more!

With mobile money i mean withdrawing your steem in fiat via your phone. So, in africa, we do make finantial transactions through phones and banks. Mobile money works for phones. So bitpesa sends the bicoin and we can withdraw using our phones. This process is too long, may be i will talk to you more on steemchat or discord if you wish so.

@jona12 Maaan! I'd definitely love to know more! I don't know how to use steemchat or discord properly though... Could you help out with that please?

Wow. Am learning because i hadnt known about it also.

You are absolutely right. Steem can make a huge financial difference for people who are experiencing the harsh reality of living in poverty.

Online, I've met women in Nigeria who have been put out of their jobs and have no idea how they are going to pay their bills. They need a way to generate income without much of an initial investment.

So, I think blogging, commenting, and earning on Steemit may be a great way to help those women out. It takes a while to really earn on this platform, but if people can band together and work with each other, I think they will find financial success here.

By the way, have you heard of bitmari? It's a website.

BitMari's aim is to "leverage Bitcoin technology to reduce the friction of sending money to Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa."

I think their mission is extraordinary. It will allow people to transfer cryptocurrency to each other, while avoiding huge fees.

Right! Also lost ma job in 2016 october. Had i known about steemit after that, i believe my life would not full of tear and sorrow.
Am loving the impact of steemit

I'm sorry to hear about what you went through. Yes. I'm glad I found Steemit too. We just have to keep at it.

yeah ..true....let's use this opportunity to promote steemit.I have checked Bitmari and hope to start using it very soon when its services will be expanded to other countries.

Thanks

Bitmari? Sounds like I'm missing another cool thing I must know.. gonna Google it now!

Ok..only in Africa if I understood well...

Yeah. I think it's an exchange to help those in Zimbabwe and some other African countries.

Ohh thats nice

@jona12 ! .. i wish people around the world can have a happy life .. unfortunately some countries have big economic problem, same here in my country also .

i read your friends dont believe steemit , also my friends dont believe , anyway im happy that you are here in steemit , wish you much success :)

Human beings always have that mindset, always thinking of negativity. However, sooner than soon, they will repent! Haha

Seems you are a great teacher!

that's kind of you . :)

This is really touching bro
We can use the power of steem to liberate Africa from the shackles of poverty.

True...My job now is to tell everyone, using all the means to expand steemit in East Africa. It's my great pleasure to see your comment @tojukaka

Wanna be in your team of promoting steemit. I think if we can go from one hall of residences to another...bugujju, kauga and so on. Big ups

@tojukaka weldone the great work of steemit in your country. Hope to be lik you when i grow up!😂

Take some imaginary @teardrops (smart media tokens)

Thank you so much @surpassinggoogle.
It's my great pleasure to see your comment.
I do appreciate your support

Hmm...Steem could actually bring forth wealth creation and eradicate poverty completely on a global scene.
Taking Steem to the grassroot might be just a good feat towards achieving this

I think we the youth should be ready to embrace this reality. It's out time to shine and elevate Africa

Actually, the way i am seeing, we have to start i think opening schools for steemit just to teach others.
