RE: What one steem dollar represents in Uganda

in #steem-promo7 years ago

Amazing article @jona12 ! It is extremely sad and disgusting how unequal and unfair this world is! Definitely cryptos and platforms such as steemit can provide a great solution for people living into this kind of extreme poverty... I imagine a better future for all these countries thanks to the blockchain... I'll do my part trying to promote it as much as possible... By the way, what is bipesa? Greetings from Spain!!! ;)

Sort:

Bitpesa is an exchange that we use in east africa to transfert bitcoin to mobile money. So we first exchange our steem to bitcoin and then from bitcoin to mobile money account through bitpesa. So, bitpesa is a bridge between mobile money account and bitcoin wallet.

Please feel free to ask me if you still have more questions

Ammmm...very interesting...what do you mean by "mobile money"? Fiat? Can bitpesa be used in other countries too? I'd love to create any kind of project to help poor communities through steemit... If you have anything in mind, please count with me! Would love to see how this technology can have an impact on people's life...

I love your passion for uganda like me. Poverty i believe will be no more!

With mobile money i mean withdrawing your steem in fiat via your phone. So, in africa, we do make finantial transactions through phones and banks. Mobile money works for phones. So bitpesa sends the bicoin and we can withdraw using our phones. This process is too long, may be i will talk to you more on steemchat or discord if you wish so.

@jona12 Maaan! I'd definitely love to know more! I don't know how to use steemchat or discord properly though... Could you help out with that please?

Wow. Am learning because i hadnt known about it also.
