I am for this statement
Reason 1: Very few people watch educational shows
Reason 2: Nothing gets done while you are watching tv.
Reason 3: The more tv you watch the fatter you become.
Reason 4: TV shows communicates a message. It is not a good message.
Reason 5: People stopped reading as a result of TV. As a result, they can't think anymore.

Watching TV is a stupid waste of time.
So many people have spoken against, so let me speak in support (For) of the statement.
2 . Tv can create a disconnection between couples. Just imagine that you want to have an alone time with your partner and he/she is glued to the TV in the sitting room. How would you feel?
3 . Somebody also said watching of TV can help develop our critical thinking. Please what critical thinking? Tell me one tv program you've watched that stirred your mind to think critically? Too much TV watching keeps our mind dormant and prevents us from having creative and challenging thoughts
4 . Too much TV watch make most of us copy wrong values, wrong way of dressing and wrong approach to life.
5 . Some tv programs will make you start suspecting everyone in your life because you will think that they either want to harm you or play you.
6 . Somebody also said watching of TV can be a great way to encourage children to study. Really! Please how many tv programs encourage children to study or even teaches them right values? Tv is a big distraction to children because it prevents them from concentrating on their studies. Most students have failed to do their school home work several times because of tv.
7 . Too much TV watching can make you forget important engagement you have. Some people have turned their food to burnt offering several times because they were glued to their tv and forgot that they put something in the fire
8 . Most tv programs don't teach what is applicable in the real world so why waste your time watching such.
Tv can be a very big distraction to anyone. We just have to know when to put it on and when to keep it off

Reason 6. Kids gone over control Watching TV all day long.
Reason 7. The ads shown in TV is so much boring some times. Some ads doesn't make any sense and we can't skip em like we could anywhere else.

2 . Watching of tv makes so many of us lazy and irresponsible.
3 .Most of the programs shown on tv are fictional and they give constant tv watchers a warped view about life.
4 . tv cuts us from the real world and deprive us from going out to mix up with other people
5 . Constant tv watchers are more likely to get obese because it prevents them from being active. Just imagine someone sitting on one spot for over 3hrs all in the name of entertaining himself /herself.
6 . It makes us adopt foreign cultures and behaviours that may be destructive to us.
7 . It can make our kids irresponsible and unserious with their education and lives
8 .it's one of the media through which our kids get influenced negatively.
9 . It disconnects us from happenings around our immediate environment.

Watching tv for kids or adults can be informative and educational when we choose the right channel and programs.
Watching TV with family can make our times together and sharing each other, we watched the same.view and sometimes can use the view to be discussed. Especially when watching in night time after dinner and in day times everybody busy for each schedule.
Because the technology now are much better and internet really easy to access, many people like to focus on phone and chatted with other people who far away than our close relation or family.
When we watching tv we need to set the times so can't disturb other activities. Especially for kids. When parents are do their work (activities at home) put kids in front of TV to watch kids program and give times. Let them enjoy their rimes for while so their brain are not monotonous.
So stupid when we wrong to choose the channel, because some channel really is. Waste time when we can't set our own time. Anything in our daily need a good setting and put in the right portion so we can find the balance for our life. When we can do that kind of management for our times, nothing useless and waste in this world.

I'll stand against this statement.
Build creativity - Watching television build creativity in both kids and youth.This is how I'll explain.
When I was a kid I admire those animation show considering them as if they are the real person. It let me think too many fiction stories now.
*** Gain knowledge*** - No matter what you are seeing but each time you will find something new. As a kid later I found cartoon to be creation of graphics.
Even some science related topics that cleared more like solar system, planets, galaxy just by watching it only.
Know different traditions, religion and culture- How I came to know that their exist people outside the place where I live??
Answers must be same it's the contribution of TV and nothing else.
I came to know about so many variation just by watching otherwise I may be aware by books about but can't understand that properly.
Fashion and equipment- Whenever we watch the television or any movie, we came to know some other place, some new tool, the level of enhancement in computer graphics, our world and so on.
Everything we can't read in newspaper.
*** Know reality of people ***- In movies and animation We often came to know the dual nature of people. How they cheat! So it contribute to such mental development of viewer.
Overall I consider it to be the best and interesting way to learn and keep in touch with ourselves.

I am against this statement
Reason 1. It's too general. Logically, it can be disproven with just one counterexample, i.e. Because I watched True Blood and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I was inspired to write Gentle Werewolf, which has led to wonderful things for me.
Reason 2. It uses an ad hominem attack. Regardless of whether it is a waste of time, I would never label someone stupid. I don't know their reasons!
Reason 3. Some people suffer from mental and/or physical ailments that prevent them from certain activities. If they get pleasure from TV, it's certainly not a stupid waste of time.
Reason 4. We're always learning, whether we intend to be or not. TV might have an ill effect on the psyche, but that doesn't make it a waste of time. If someone goes into a room good and comes out of the room evil, we would give the thing that happened in that room a negative label, but not "waste of time"
Reason 5. Time cannot be wasted. It is used. It also cannot be saved. It is always used. It's not like I can rummage through the time wastebin and collect the time other people have thrown away. Nope, they used it. Used it all up! I need MORE.
Reason 6. We're all addicted to time. If watching TV helps people kick their habit, more power to them.
