Boost-

when someone jumps really really high

"Did you see that big boost!? He must have been 40 feet up!"

Elevatored-

when the wind gusts in the middle of the jump and gives the rider an extra surprise boost.

"Whoah, he got elevatored! He's lucky he landed that!"

Juice-

the amount of wind in your kite (I'm told in the USA they only really say this in Michigan)

"I've got plenty of juice with this 9 meter kite"

Woo-

A piece of equipment that measures the height and dynamics of your jumps. It is also a social media group and competition regionally all across the world

"Did you see her woo from yesterday? It must have been really windy there"

Hindenburg-

When the wind dies suddenly and nothing you can do can keep your kite flying. It just falls slowly and dramatically.

"All the kites at kite point just hindenburged. The wind must have shut off"

Jellyfished-

When you misdirect the steering of your kite in a lull in the wind and it turns upside down with the wind out of its sail and the lines slacked, falling to the water.

"His kite keeps jellyfishing! He could really use another lesson"

Walk of shame

When you aren't riding upwind and you have to walk your gear back to your launching spot.

Kook-

no explanation necessary. You know a kook when you see one. Sooner or later we are all kooks in our own way

Mowing the lawn

When someone is only riding back and forth and not doing any cool tricks they are "mowing the lawn"

Kitemare -

An accident involving you and your kite and serious carnage.

Downwinder

When a group of friends ride from one spot upwind to a downwind spot and have beers at the end

"Girl, you up for a downwinder today?"

Deathloop-

An accident when the steering line wraps around the bar and makes the kite looping continuously.

Goofy-

someone who rides with their left foot back when riding surf style

Regular-

someone who rides with their right foot back when riding surf style.
