My path to spirituality
So here I am…
new on Steemit with my first post.
It's a pleasure to meet you... one of the pioneers of the #blockchain era.
My Journey
It took me a long way to be exactly at this point.
My way, which actually started out of very secular reasons, increasingly developed into a path to spirituality. On this path I turned from a narcissistic and selfish little boy to a joyful and fulfilled man.
My Beginnings
Until a year ago I worked as a DJ. Parties, festivals and music determined my life. I had several thousand friends and followers on social media. From bouncers to promoters, everybody knew my name in the local club scene. I didn't have to pay for a single drink. Together with my friends I was on the guestlists of the hottest events. My life was one huge non-stop party. We celebrated up to 4 days a week. The rest of the days it took us to recover.
There was even a point in my life where I had to choose between my family and the music.
At that time... I decided for music.
Music was everything to me. Since my youth I had the dream to become a DJ. When I finally made it, I defined myself about music and my life as an artist.
If you had removed the music from my life, there was simply nothing left.
The crisis
It took me several years of hard work to fulfill my dream. After all, I still wasn't happy. I was constantly accompanied by a feeling of emptiness.
As fate would have it, the moment came in my life when everything collapsed. What happened exactly is a very long story, where many things played together. At that time, I sank into a deep hole for months without hope of recovery.
One day, as if by chance (thank God), I picked up a term that was supposed to change my whole life.
It was the term "personal development" that I picked up by chance in a conversation between friends. It may sound simple and meaningless, but this term had an attraction to me. I can't describe this feeling.
I started researching to find out what it was all about. Then one thing led to another.
I read dozens of books, watched countless videos on this topic and attended seminars.
One of my most important insights at that time was the interplay between body and mind. I learned that you have to improve both parts of yourself if you want to grow as a human being.
My Mind
My mind was all messed up at this time.
All I've done for the most part of my life is to party, listen to electronic music and watch TV. The only moments when I learned something were the ones where I had to (my social education, school, parents). From the moment I started my personal development, learning and reading became a part of me. Since then I have an insatiable hunger to acquire and apply new knowledge. That was also the reason why I dealt with Blockchain and the Cryptoworld.
My body
I don't need to tell you what happened to my body at my "best times" as a DJ. No sleep, fast food, no sports, lots of alcohol, cigarettes and much more. It's amazing what my body has endured. In the meantime I have learned to perceive my body and treat it with respect.
I'm on a balanced and wholesome diet, I'm a flexitarian, doing sports and a lot of other exercises. Alcohol and cigarettes have no place in my life anymore. Nature has become a source of power and peace for me.
My soul
Day after day my life changed enormously.
However, no matter what I did... the void remained.
One day the book "The Power Of Now" by Eckhart Tolle fell into my hands.
The knowledge from this book and the many books of the spiritual masters that followed was the missing piece in my puzzle. From book to book I woke up constantly and my consciousness grew.
Meanwhile I know that the basis of personal growth lies in spirituality and therefore in yourself.
There is not only body and mind... everything starts with the soul.
The soul gives you direction in life. It is your connection to God and thus to love!
We are a three dimensional entity and you must value all three dimensions if you want to elevate your life to a masterpiece.
Now I live more fulfilled than ever. When I look back consciously, I can now see the connections between my experiences and events. I am grateful to have experienced all this and look forward to what is yet to come.
When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator. - Mahatma Gandhi
Why (this blog)?
In the time of my "awakening" books were my companions. They allowed me to learn a lot about myself, life and god. Now I would like to share, discuss the knowledge I was allowed to receive with the world and you.
It'd be wonderful to meet open-minded and conscious people here on steemit whom I can learn from and connect with.
Why (here)?
I am firmly convinced that we are in an age of profound changes. Part of these changes, at least on the secular side, will be carried out through future decentralization. There will be a separate post which takes a closer look at this topic.
Apart from that the Steem-Blockchain allows to record knowledge protected from censorship and manipulation. This is a wonderful opportunity to decentralize knowledge and make it accessible to all.
Why (you)?
My heart tells me that I will meet the right community on this platform.
Let's enjoy the time together, live in total abundance and freedom.
Thanks for your time!
