Oh how the English language can be spoken one way and taken totally another with it's second meanings, nuances, colloquialisms, homonyms, synonyms, inferences, subtle and blatant at the same time. I discovered in my nursing career how many past patients have their own lexicon and constructs and yet it's still English.
