YES: Elon Musk's Falcon Heavy Rocket Launches Towards Mars

in #space7 years ago

I just love this stuff!

Elon Musk's SpaceX launches its Falcon Heavy rocket into space with an orbit towards Mars via the sun's orbit, and two of the three boost stages of the rocket land successfully back to earth

Are we in a new space race?

A giant leap in the development of civilization - super-heavy rocket, created by private enterprise, for the first time put into orbit a payload. A new era of space technology has begun.

What did the Mask for the first time and what a wonderful start:

  1. Super-heavy rocket, the Falcon Heavy can bring into orbit 64 tons of cargo. This is two and a half times more than can lift the heaviest and currently used rocket "Delta". This load allows to launch a heavy spacecraft, station, equip the expedition, introduce large quantities of satellites in orbit. Height Falcon Heavy-70 m, diameter 12.2 m, total weight 1420 tons.
  2. This is not the world's largest superheavy missile - the American Saturn has become the largest, the second behind it - the Soviet "Energy". But these projects were very expensive, to use them for commercial launches was unprofitable, and because the last launch of "Energy" took place in 1988, and 30 years superheavy missiles were not launched.
  3. A revolutionary change in design is the ability to return the launch pad to earth for reuse. This greatly reduces the cost. In the Falcon Heavy launch, two stages were used for the first time, which had previously worked twice and were returned when the Falcon-9 rocket was launched. The modular design of the missile Mask allows you to use the same steps in two types of missiles. These two stages come back again and will be prepared for re-use. This is a unique technical achievement.
  4. Not all of the Mask still came out with the first successful launch. The Central stage of acceleration failed to drive safely to the sea platform, and was lost in the ocean. But this is the first landing test of the Central stage in the history of space.
  5. In 2017, the private company Maska produced 18 missile launches-it is more than all countries of the world, except Russia. All launches Mask-successful. Russia produced 19 runs – but successful the same – 18. However, Musk has become the world market leader in weight indicated on the orbit of the payload since it was launched more than heavy missiles than Russia.
  6. In 2017, the year Musk became the market leader in launches of heavy rockets. Falcon-9 brought down prices even lower than Russian, and became more profitable than Russian "proton". Almost a year "Protons" did not start.
  7. Since the first rocket launch by Musk to launch the Falcon Heavy it's only been 12 years. Musk is already designing an even more powerful missile. Musk has shown that in the shortest possible time in the modern world people are able to carry out innovations on a planetary scale, which advance civilization. An example of the Space X project is instructive for everyone.
  8. The Falcon Heavy rocket, whose first launch was successfully launched into space the sports car Tesla Roadster, which plays the song "Space Oddity" by David Bowie. At the time of going into space telemetry showed that the car at speeds of over 10,000 km/h goes to Mars and the speed is increasing. This is by far the fastest car in the world. On its on - Board monitor one phrase - Dont panic-do not panic.

Nice summary ;)

What a very compac info. Hopefully people will live into another planet. That is great.

Great summary!

I love the idea that the U.S. government no longer has to fund programs like this, where they cut corners because of budget issue and now can hire a private company to continue the space race on behalf of America.

Is anybody watching Musk with a critical eye? I don't believe any of his propaganda. It's all an infomercial for Tesla, the company he stole from his three murder victims.

Well, I'd much rather the government be innovating in space travel, but the private sector will work too.

I believe that private-public partnerships are the best of both worlds

I'm excited that the private sector is reviving space travel. I might actually get a chance to travel to space someday.
On the other hand, the biggest problem is developing a life support system so the mars travelers' bodies don't deteriorate on the voyage and Mars. Second, there no landing system that can land a human safely on Mars.(weight of the fuel for rockets would be prohibitive) Until we find solutions to these problems, I still think Mars is a "if". I'm so pessimistic; we'll figure that stuff out.

Yeah, the negative effects of the trip to Mars itself are still something that needs to be dealt with

I've followed spaceX for a while now, and have long anticipated this launch. I don't think anyone harbours such a burning desire like Musk to make humans interplanetary.

bless elon

If this guy could get half of the things done that he wants to be able to do, he will change the world. I'm hoping he gets the chance.

Me too! It's just refreshing to see someone with such an innovative mind out putting ideas into action. I also like that he's not afraid to fail.

We need more minds like that pushing technology and innovation forward like he is.

Nice video :p i wille follow for you. :)
Good day! :p

Wow nice post

@davidpakman

We are going to have a Tesla Roaster orbiting Mars with a dummy in a space X suit on.
