When God sent the Holy Spirit to earth it was with fire, roar and power! For what?

When God sent the Holy Spirit on the Day Pentecost it happened with power, with great roar and fire. God wanted people to realize that the Holy Spirit had come to earth. This was a key moment, since with this God had marked the stage of a new time.

Jesus overcame sin, Hades and death!
When God sent the Holy Spirit to earth it was a statement that Jesus' work was over. He had come in the flesh as a human being, but never, not once! He was stained or contaminated by His flesh. He loved His Father and did His will in all things until he reached the cross of Calvary, and on the cross he had to give himself to the Father in faith. There was a great darkness that fell on the whole earth and that same darkness covered the soul of Jesus. That was the first time that the Father had forsaken him, and then the Son himself had to give his spirit to God in a living faith and that is how he finished his work.

On the third day Jesus Christ was resurrected as our Savior and during those three days he was down in Hades (the kingdom of death) and spoke with those whom they were captive, those who did not listen to or heard the warning of repentance that Noah had given, Jesus gave them hope and proclaimed that he had taken the keys of death and Hades. (1 Peter 3: 18-20; Hebrews 2: 14-15; Revelation 1:18) As evidence of this He told those who were present “Stay there, while I open the doors of Hades, the kingdom of death ! ”Then he opened the doors and some of them followed him upstairs, there were prophets and others who had lived hundreds of years before and appeared on the streets of Jerusalem. (Matthew 27: 51-53) It was in a powerful manifestation the work that Jesus had finished.

The Holy Spirit: The power that will set us free
On Pentecost, He sent the Spirit back to earth. I send the Holy Spirit, who arrived with a loud rumble and powerful wind. This was the manifestation that a new time had begun. There began our time, the time of Jesus; the time where we can be according to his image, but this is only carried out with the help of the helper, the Holy Spirit. He enlightens our inner man and gives us the strength to walk on such a path. With the Holy Spirit we have the Spirit of power, which we need to be freed from our sins and our old friendships. In order to be released we need the Spirit of power and that is part of the Holy Spirit.

This can be compared to a rocket that is about to be launched into orbit, an incredible force is needed to break free of the earth's atmosphere. There may be different platforms or impellers, but in the end when it is released from the atmosphere it enters its orbit. In this way it can be monitored and guided without these propelling forces. In our spiritual life, this is where wisdom takes over, developing and growing calmly. God has not given us spirit of discouragement, but has given us a spirit of power, love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1: 7) This is the spirit of wisdom, but first we need the power to be released.

Pray for the power of the Holy Spirit!

If you feel that you have no strength to do the will of God and overcome sin, then pray to God to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. You have to work in your captivity until you are free, renouncing your own will and giving everything to God. The more you work, the more you discover that you cannot do it yourself, and that is when your inner man cries out to receive the Holy Spirit as a power in your inner life. This is how God gives you His Spirit, and you know that because you receive joy and peace. The kingdom of heaven becomes part of your life and the Holy Spirit is the power that drives you, guides, helps and comforts you.

Of all the gifts given by God to mankind, there is no one greater than the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit has many functions and activities. First, He works in the hearts of all people, everywhere. Jesus told His disciples that He would send the Spirit into the world to "convince the world of sin, and of justice, and of judgment" (John 16: 7-11). Everyone has a "conscience of God," whether they admit it or not, because the Spirit applies the truths of God in man's own mind, to convince them through righteous and sufficient arguments that they are sinners. The answer to that conviction leads man to salvation.
