I, too, am very attracted to the Scandinavian sensibility and aesthetic - the light, of course, is phenomenal and unique, making everything gloomy and melancholic just like you said (and know much better than me). On top of that, I can't stand hot weather (anything above 22ºC) and love the cold - it triggers my imagination like few things do.
