Have you ever considered that perhaps this ennui you feel, this hole inside you preventing you from being everything you want to be is yet another societal construct, an molded reaction or alternative for when material aquisition becomes inevitably unfufilling? Have you ever noticed rebellion, resistance and defiance has gracefully not been banished, but rather given outlet through an individual's media consumption, self-identification with certain brands or aesthetics, and all the shit that not only fails to rise above consumerism, but often finds its only outlet through it? That in order for it to function at all, there must be a fundamental rule of the consumer never being satisfied?
