No, I don't think it is bad at all, however you do need to consider your audience. Most people here aren't going to want to read a longer article that is heavy on scientific terms and citations. People wanna know who YOU are as a person and what your thoughts on a subject are. I think your writing is good, but that academic quality to what I read is probably part of why you aren't having more success here. I think a post like this one can get some momentum because it is short, reveals something about me personally, and provides an insight that may be useful to people. Hope that helps
