With a current Market Capital of approx. $236m #Steem appears to be somewhat loosing momentum in maintaining the explosive growth witnessed in May and June of this year.
Marketing and Promotion
Recently I have shared with you my concerns in the drop in the number of new users registering on #Steemit.
This concern still stands.
In this Blog I hope to share with you the concerns I have and an exciting project still under wraps.
One-way Ticket - Powering Up all the way..!!
First of all I want to begin with "Powering Up".
Regular readers of my Blog will know that I am very Bullish on #Steemit and on a One-way Ticket that you will see me Powering Up all the way..!!
For me #Steemit has the potential to totally revolutionise Social Media but people have to believe in it.
Marketing and Promotion
In April of this year some of you will know that I set out building #promo-uk, a Crowdsourced Marketing and Promotional Team in the U.K. for the sole purpose to Market and Promote #Steemit.
As a result of the success of the initiative, along with Matt @Starkerz and Dylan @Anarcotech, we recently launched #promo-steem.
By leveraging the success of #promo-uk we feel we have the basic foundations to support those Marketing and Promotional Initiatives in other areas of the World where funds and support are not immediately available.
Over the last few weeks we have seen encouraging signs that the support is slowly filtering through but we need more people to get behind it and recognise that this work is vital for the growth of #Steemit
In simply terms we need a coordinated recognition of marketing..!!
#Steemit will not market itself
Despite all of our wishes, #Steemit will not market itself, and it is up to each and everyone of us to recognise the importance of this work.
When it was first mentioned that #Steemit Inc would CrowdSource the Marketing and Promotion of #Steemit I for one welcomed this decision with open arms and embraced the proposal from day one.
For me, we as a Community are better positioned to Market and Promote #Steemit than anyone else, but in doing so we all need to be fully supportive of what needs to be done.
I am happy to carry on, but I am buggered if I am going to spend anymore money
Since launching #promo-uk with an original budget of £1,200, I recently lifted this to £12,000.
This is money that is coming out of my own pocket.
So far I have spent over +£4,500 in Promotional Merchandise that the #promo-uk Team has been handing out for free.
Though I am happy to continue to carry on the work of #promo-uk, I am buggered if I am going to spend anymore money without support.
Digital Promotion on the Street. Over the next 12 months
Currently we are working on some great Marketing and Promotional Initiatives that will utilise the feedback we have obtained in the last few months.
One of the initiatives that we are working on will take the Street Marketing and Promoting of #Steemit into the digital world.
It is great to get out onto the street handing out flyers and promoting #Steemit, and though we are able to obtain a tremendous amount of feedback, we are unable to actually monitor real uptake.
The project we are currently working will hopefully address this and I am excited to see it being implemented.
Technical Analysis of the chart and price of #Steem
Though I maintain a Long Term BULLISH view on #Steem, the short term story appears to be showing us a slightly different picture.
I will continue to monitor the Technical Analysis over the next few weeks/months and in the meantime will share with you the Digital Promotion as we develop it.
Thanks again for reading.

Look, this is great what you do, but actually this should be done by Steemit itself. Are they happy with what they have gained so far... I think so, and that is maybe the problem... It's not up to us to promote Steemit as a whole in my opinion, I love your stubborness, it will have an effect... But look at @steemit , what capital is there in that account, even a fraction of that would have an immense effect on promotion... Just a proposal...
@pele23 I have joined @stephenkendal on his #uk-promo and it is great fun, I believe he has the right Idea, as we are all in the same boat and if we as users do not pull in people into steemit then there will be a decrease in the price in steem. Why would people not want to tell other people about steemit? This does not cost anything for anyone to tell other people about it. The more people on this social network the price of steem would go up. The fact that we get paid to post should be enough for people like our selves to ask other people to join steemit.
The word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool in its self. I am not slating your comment as everyone is entitled to their opionion, but if everyone on steemit was to tell 3 friends and they were to join the steem price would rise and people such as our selves would receive higher payouts for our quality posts. it's a win-win situation.
Ok, I follow you in "Word of mouth", I do that too. But there is a big difference between word of mouth and investing 12000 USD in promotion like @stephenkendal... I don't see any good in that, that's the job of the Steemit founders!
But we are all apart of steemit. The steem power you have is an investment in the platform. Like shares in a company. With the amount of money thats floating around in steemit just for posting and commenting upvoting. We are like staff that post to the site. Just by helping the community grow is doing your little bit. Like i said in my other comment all it takes is for everyone to invite 3 people and them who join to ask 3 people the word of mouth would bring people in. With the promos that @stevenkendal does is showing people there is a face to these people on steemit. People like to see other people doing things for the community and that will help it grow
I agree with you on this subject. But it looks like the steem inc have different plans.
Very useful info indeed. Thanks
I also wanted to share my celebration with you since you are one of the founders of this project.

I think the price of Steem is getting ready to go way higher. I think it's waiting on Bitcoin to finish this correction we're in
I can't blame you for not adding more to the marketing campaign. It cannot be one or two people that push Steem out into the wider world. It requires a team effort.
Explosive growth cannot be sustained long term. Especially in the light of recent events in China. Pauses for consolidation before more upward climbs, however, are natural. I remain optimistic for Steem's long term future. There's still so much more room to grow! Cheers!
First, thank you for taking so much initiative on this. Having committed people like you (and many others) lays a great foundation for Steemit to grow.
I continue to reach out to both personal and professionals to get them to join Steemit.
I listen to about 8 different podcasts weekly. I continue to write to each one of those hosts to ask them to consider joining Steemit. As they are often asking for reviews or donations via Patreon, I'm trying to educate them how others, like @dollarvigilante, use the site to promote their offerings and can also get paid on quality posts.
I think the current signup process needs to be streamlined to a great degree. Some people are waiting 7+ days to have their accounts approved. Long-term, this is completely unacceptable. I would guess this is why there is a drop in the amount of new registrations.
Congratulations @stephenkendal! You have completed some achievement on Steemit and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :

might be a good idea to advertise in the "want ads" for people looking for work...
more important than advertising, is onboarding. if you can retain the users who find us, by helping them along their way... that is at least as important than advertising
