The Quest To Earn A Bitcoin From Steemit Continues - Let's Inspire Others
All of my Steem and SBD has been earned through proactive blogging, engaging authors, and curating on the Steemit platform. I haven't used bots except a few small Minnowbooster votes 10 months ago. Am I special? Not at all. Regardless, I've put a lot of effort into Steemit that my blog won't show, and I want to help grow it for everyone.
I'm just about halfway to organically being a "dolphin". I should hit that half-milestone in a week or so. After that, it's on to my goal of 5,000 Steem Power.
Sure, I could've made a lot more if I did things differently or used bots, but I've never thought of that as a mistake in any way. I could've also invested plenty when Steem was in the $0.85-$1.00 range, but I decided to hold onto my other coins to earn Steem as the platform promoted to new adopters. It felt like a challenge to take on and not back away from. Slowly but surely, my account has grown.
I'll note that I've also shipped off a ballpark of 1,000 SBD I've earned at various price levels (most during the winter peak) to diversify into some alt coins, USD, and to slowly accumulate some BTC dust since. I haven't made a huge amount of rewards yet, but I feel that's because the niches I've focused on aren't super popular or lucrative in general.
While I keep chipping away at modest offline SBD>BTC accumulation from my joke and fitness posts, I thought this particular post series could give me a way to make a marketable success story for Steemit and Steem. I want to publicly show how I grind it out to earn 1 BTC from this Steemit blog series over time.
Whether this will take forever or never happen, I'm going to try. I want something to shoot for, something that the followers I appreciate can get behind, and a fun experience to share for inspiration and marketing purposes.
I personally feel that everyone should try to own at least one Bitcoin for the long run, and while my real stash is offline, I'd like to track my efforts for this Bitcoin to give people hope that they can also leverage the Steem blockchain to reach their financial goals.
I'm hoping people can follow along and encourage me in this process. Below are the conditions I laid out in previous posts.
We can all help each other earn a Bitcoin with persistence and community effort.
"You must be willing to do the things today others won’t do, in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have." - Les Brown
My Proposition/Commitment:
- Through regular posts on this specific initiative, with value-add content below, save and track my rewards to show that consistency and effort for a good cause pays.
- Take ALL liquid and/or donated rewards from this series and place them in my Steem Savings account for all to see and follow.
- To the extent possible and practical, include notable rewards from any upvotes I get on my comments on these posts.
- My Steem Savings account will only contain funds from this project.
- Never use bid-bots or self vote on this series.
- Track my progress over time so people can easily follow my journey. Also monitor non-liquid earnings.
- When I reach my personal win-win goal of being able to convert the Steem Savings account into one full Bitcoin, do so and execute the overall mission of a grassroots "A Full Bitcoin Earned From Hard Work And The Generosity of Steemit Community".
Most people have heard about the guy who bought a pizza with 10,000 Bitcoin, so let's make a Steemit story as a team to leverage for attracting new adopters and motivating those who are already involved.
- With the right visibility, show people that Steemit can be a low-risk way to leverage social media to enter the cryptocurrency space and build a savings portfolio for the long term.
One Bitcoin is a solid financial goal for many around the world. I'll do the hard work. Let's give them something to hope for when they find Steemit.
My Value-Added Content:
- Motivational feedback from this project, recognition of key supporters, and general monitoring of progress.
- I quit my job 3+ years ago to work for myself and pursue freedom, which gives me lots of experience to share about how to take the same leap of faith.
- As a professional reseller, I'll include at least one ~daily example of items I bought for low cost or obtained for free, that I sold for solid profit to give people cash-generating ideas.
- I want to teach people how to become more financially independent through creative additional income streams, which could in turn be used to invest in Steem, other cryptocurrency, or precious metals.
- As an experienced drummer, produce the occasional drum cover video for fun and entertainment.
- Engage all fitting comments and upvote my supporters.
The Series:
My Modest Results To Date (have to start somewhere):
- Current Steem Savings From Series = 1.365 STEEM
- Current SBD Savings From Series = 1.313 SBD
Thanks,
Matt

Steemit is the best on community . This is very good side on internet . The steemit price on rise because of the community support .
Thanks for sharing @steemmatt
Go for it. Accumulating BTC can make you financially self-sufficient.
WRT Steem, why not power up and have more SP rather than put it into savings?
I want to isolate it into savings so it's easy to track and monitor. I'd imagine that for quite a while the amount of Steem/SBD I might earn from this will be negligible anyway, but perhaps I could make a second account later solely for using the SP to upvote supporters, or power it up in trackable intervals. Thanks for the input.
I am more than happy to see more people coming up to promote blogging based on Steem blockchain. I will start to market the idea of blogging in students. There is a larger portion of population that doesn't know about this wonderful idea. The price of Steem has to rise because of the community support.
I would like to learn from your experience. After 1.5 years of regular job, I resigned in the last month. Yes, It is tough decision but I want to explore myself . You have inspired me for sure.
