Evidence is mounting that state-run pre-school programs backfire on kids.
Remember, just because some policy sounds good in theory doesn't mean it will be implemented, or even designed, in a way that actually works well in the real world. Beware the nirvana fallacy.
This matters because the Democrats are backing universal state-run preschool, and many are reflexively supporting it. But they could actually end up inadvertently hurting our children's educational attainments, despite their good intentions.
