RE: Fascism and communism are two sides of the same coin

in #politics7 years ago

Absolutely correct. Historically, progressives espoused viewpoints that different very little from what would today be regarded as "extreme right-wing fascism". It is only because of the attrocious events that happened in WW2 that the left started calling these things "extreme right-wing". Socialists had very little problem switching side to Nazism and fascism. Progressives in early 20th century were racist, antisemitic and pro-eugenics. The Fabian socialist society for instance. Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was in favor of eugenics for the "weak" of society and was heavily against immigration. FDR was an admirer of Mussolini and fascism. Karl Marx and his buddy Engels were racists, antisemites, pro-slavery, nationalist and virtually everything that would have the left call them "Nazi" today (there is proof of this from Marx' own mouth). Calling Nazism and fascism "right-wing" is merely a strategic ploy by leftists to pretend that these ideologies were nothing close to them when historically they always were.
