Mexican Dream Herb- Calea Zacatechichi

Calea Zacatechichi is a flowering shrub that is native to Mexico and Central America. This herb has been used for thousands of years for its magical and medicinal purposes. Ancient healers would boil fresh crushed leaves to produce a powerful brew that would produce visions and clairvoyant, dreamlike states.

The herb has a long history of medicinal use. Calea has been used to treat skin diseases,as an appetite stimulant, stomach tonic, and laxative. The herb also finds folk medicinal use in treatment of headaches, diabetes, and menstrual complaints.

The subtle psychoactive effects on humans are best described as dream-inducing and sleep promoting. Users take the plant to better remember their dreams and to make dreams more lucid. Some people have even reported marijuana like effects after smoking a cigarette of the herb. It can be prepared as tea or smoked. I like to drink a tea of it and smoke some right before bed to induce very lucid dreams that I can recall perfectly the next morning.
